Services
We have served the Camas and Washougal area since 1911 and stand by our commitment of high quality service with compassion and integrity. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at anytime, we are available by phone or e-mail, or drop by the office in person. We are always here to help.
From the first founding of Swank Funeral Home by Wilmer Swank in 1911, we have been dedicated to serving our local community. Straub's has had other owners, to include: Keith O'Hair, Ronald Dufrense (who changed the name to Camas Funeral Chapel), Jake and Margaret Straub (who gave us our current name), Lyle and Peggy Burnett, Rudy and Karen Dierickx, and now their son, Chris Dierickx, a fourth generation funeral director.
Chris is a fourth generation funeral director. His great grandfather worked at Straub's Funeral Home for the original owner and founder, Wilmer Swank. Chris graduated from Mt. Hood Community College's Mortuary Science program in 1994. He and his wife Wendi moved to Camas in 1996 to manage Straub's Funeral Home which they purchased from his parents in 2010.

This section contains useful information about what to do when death occurs, funeral etiquette and frequently asked questions. Family and friends getting together to honor a loved one's life is one of the most important steps in the grieving and healing process. You may opt to have a traditional religious or military service, or as more and more people are doing, you can choose to have a non-traditional 'life celebration'.

My dad's death was sudden and we didn't know the first thing about arranging his burial. We met with another home, and this one, and chose this one as we felt very comfortable with them to care for my dad when he passed away, and it turned out very well. They were so kind and understanding. Their services were as good as can be! Thank you very much!!
