The only upside is the space. Other than that, the sound insulation is super poor. I can literally hear every footstep from my upstairs neighbor. At night, I can even hear them closing the door in the bedroom and feel like the whole room is shaking when they walk. The staff are nice but don't seem to care much about residents' problems . We told them twice that our fob is broken but haven't got a solution yet. Try to get a unit on the top floor or find another place if you are sensitive to noise

This building is perfect. So well maintained. Beautiful gym that is always in great condition, and so clean. There is a clubhouse with a free printer, and it's generally just a beautiful place to work. The building staff are so communicative. Any maintenance issues get fixed extremely quickly, and everyone is so professional. All appliances in units are modern and in great condition. Can't recommend this place enough.

From the first time I toured the community, I knew the Mode would be a great place to live.
Stacy, the community director, is so warm and welcoming. She and her team really go above and beyond to make the Mode feel like home. Before finding the Mode I had toured places all over the Bay Area - Oakland, neighborhoods all over the city, and about a half dozen more apartments across the peninsula, but the Mode stood out as far and away the best place.
The units themselves are spacious, beautiful, and well-appointed with gas stoves, ss appliances, high ceilings, and nice flooring throughout. We love

This place is so beautiful and has an amazing staff! Deleshia is fantastic and so helpful. She really made this move easy. Stacy is really great also. The community facilities are well kept and the interiors are modern and clean! Many other apartments we looked at didn’t have air conditioning or lights and Mode has everything we wanted and more. They allowed us to install new thermostats and light fixtures (the maintenance team deserves a shout out as well). As an added benefit, this place is so close to Whole Foods, Hillsdale Mall, Safeway, furniture stores, and many nice restaurants.

I have lived here for almost 3 years and I will stay here for as long as I have to! The layout of the space is perfect! We have a 2x2 with 2 walk-in closets and plenty of living space. I have lived at over 5-8 rental places, nothing is better than MODE especially for the most friendly staff you can ever find. The staff and property manager are so understanding and accommodating to any situation and always doing above and beyond for the residents.

1. High cost in garage disposal fees. I usually got charged over $100 just for garage disposal. I was told that the fee was total cost divided by the units. Given the number of units in the building, this is a lot of money for garage disposal.
2. Not flexible in term of lease. I have lived several rentals in bay area in the past 10 years. The one-year leases were always for the first year, after that, renting became monthly based. You just need to notify the landlord in 30 days in advance. But Mode charges extra over $1000 if I want to rent monthly. I was told about the policy, but I didn
