It was pretty good the rooms were spacious for a New York hotel but I think it's getting close to needing a renovation soon and they have this weird thing that you have to demand room service the night before. It's odd

I slept on the most unconfortable places around the world... but Soho54 probably beats them all... We arrived in our room and we found pieces of paper and plastics on the floor, a lot of hairs on the bed.. bleah! We asked to clean our room as soon as possible and it tooks 2 days to clean our room, after the room has been cleaned the pieces of paper and plastic they remained on the floor... the location are ok, but the Hotel is located on probably the most trafficated street of NY, Watts St., honks all night long!!! Never seen a smile with the staff, unconfortable experience, unconfortable location

Oh boy... Where to start with this place? For reference, we stayed in room 703.
Extremely shabby hotel. The furniture looks like it has to be from the 1970's. Oldest television set I've seen in 20 years. No USB outlets. Carpet in the room is literally shredded. Desk chair is dangerous and falling apart. There were two pillows, and they were the tiniest things ever. They looked like a joke on the bed. I laughed when I walked in and saw them. The bed is like a trampoline. No support for your body at all. The bed linens are white and had multiple visible stains on them when we walked into the room

This hotel was pretty straightforward. The staff was nice and the amenities offered on the website were what we received (personally, the free water bottles was a plus for me). The bed was decently comfortable and they supplied us with more pillows on request. The AC/heating unit in the room worked perfectly. Overall, it was a good stay and I got what I expected.

Does not deserve even .5 stars. Terrible terrible dirty hotel. Do not stay here. Only gave 2 pillows that were horrible. So so so so dirty. Towels were dirty. Carpets were ripped. Tv did not work. Could not take a shower because there was NO hot/warm water. Literally stay anywhere else BUT here

Staff was great. We liked the "no maid service unless you ask" policy (I think that's a temporary COVID thing). I think more hotels should do that. Location was awesome. The rooms were clean, but a bit run down.

New York is so resilient! During a pandemic, just a couple months after hurricane flooding, this was still a safe, clean place to stay at an amazing price.
If you're disabled, I recommend you call ahead to make sure they have what you need. I came in a wheelchair, but I can stand briefly and walk a few steps without further injury, so I was able to get around ok. There are two elevators, and the front entrance had good accessibility. They put me in a room on the 3rd floor, right by the elevator, and brought me a shower chair. But if you need a roll-in shower, this room might not work for you.

The carpet in my hotel room was sticky and smelled bad and it felt gross to walk around barefoot. There was only one sliding glass for the shower and water got everywhere every time I showered. Room cleaning came once during the week I stayed there. I requested an extra blanket and two hours passed with no knock on my door. The place was just kind of crusty and gross and I definitely don't think I'll ever be going back. Additionally there was one woman at the front desk that was extremely rude to me when I wasn't wearing a mask. Hours before two men who worked at the hotel were sitting

The staff was professional; particularly the woman who checked us in. We called down with concerns about bugs we saw in the room. She was apologetic and offered us two potential remedies. Of course I'd prefer no bugs but I can appreciate how amenable she was. Our room was sufficient. No fridge. It's in walking distance of Chinatown and there were some good eateries in the immediate area (less than a mile away).

I’ve stayed here several times and it was pretty decent each time. Front desk staff is very nice and accommodating. The bathroom is really nice & modern! The beds are pretty comfy but the pillows are TERRIBLE. You only get 2 pillows and they’re sad looking. It’s pretty quiet (unless you’re facing the street where you’ll hear honking since there’s a lot of traffic nearby). I really wished the WiFi was more stable and stronger. They have free bottles of water downstairs and there’s a coffee machine in each room. (No tea bags) Overall, decent hotel.

Don't bother with this place. They'll charge you an additional $104 for water and wifi, could have gotten a better place for that total price we paid.. Nowhere to park, a few cars that they recommended us to part at were towed by NYPD the next morning. Also, nothing in the area except Chinatown and Little Italy . SKIP THIS PLACE.

This hotel is gross. I usually wipe down high touch services when I stay in hotels, but holy moly. My wipes were turning black. Weird white stains on the bathroom floor: red stain (blood?! Wine?!) on the wallpaper; carpet feels greasy and made my feet dirty; tv didn't work; phone didn't work. AC was fine. There is like a school or something across the street so I accidentally flashed children after I took a shower- whoops!

The location is primo, hence the 2 stars. But look elsewhere. There's no way I'd stay here again- way too disgusting.

This place is an absolute disaster. It's actually a run down Hampton Inn posing as a boutique hotel on it's website. So no on site dining. No room service. Nothing.

To add insult to injury the hotel has double charged for the three nights and my outreach to the billing department resulted in the associate informing me there was no mistake and promptly hung up the phone.

Have already reached out to American Express to dispute the charge. Do yourself a favor and forgo staying at what can best be described a homeless shelter based on the condition of the outdoor entrance, lobby, elevators

Please pay attention to the negative reviews. My daughter in law booked this hotel because she was attending beauty conference. The conference was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. When we called to cancel and request a refund they said we were a day late. We cancelled as soon as we got the notification of the cancellation. Parts of New York was on quarantine so they were fully aware of the situation with the virus and I am sure many people were canceling their travel plans because of it. I suspect they look at it as easy money. They get to keep the money and they won't have any guests

I wish I had taken the bad reviews more seriously before giving my money to these con artists. This hotel looked nothing like the chic pictures posted online and was so disgusting that I left the city early to avoid spending another night in the room (the cell).

Some highlights (lowlights):

1. Carpet was worn out and torn up. Gave me the feeling of sleeping on a porch in a humid suburb that was last decorated in the 1970's.

2. There was a chair in the room that was covered in dust and hair particles and basically looked like it had spent 3 months sitting out on the curb somewhere.

I've been using yelp silently for years, but this deserves a review. I had a trip planned to spend a weekend upstate, with some nights in SoHo before and after the weekend. I booked this spot for those days because I had heard that it was decent (when it was a Hampton Inn), and that I used to live two blocks north of it and know and love the area.

My flight to LGA ended up being cancelled and there were no other available flights to NYC until the next day, so I re-booked my flight to Albany, and got a hotel in Saratoga Springs near where I would be upstate. SoHo 54 didn't care at all

TERRIBLE customer service. I booked 2 rooms for a business trip using a business credit card. Once booked, I e-mailed the hotel asking to change the name on the room and told them it was for a business trip and was told by their assistant manager Silvio that the name change was confirmed.

The first booking was fine but a week later during the second booking, they did not have the appropriate name down which created issues when the employee went to check in and they made the employee put their own card down for incidentals which made no sense as the first booking was for the same exact person

I was not going to write a review, as I was hoping the hotel would try to right the horrible experience my kids and I had there. The first night we were there (room 907) my son woke up at 2:30 in the morning saying something was bitting him. We looked in the bed to see what it could be, sure enough...it was a nasty bed bug. I put it in a napkin and went to the front to show them and my sons back. They transferred us rooms, which seemed to be okay. The hotel took ALL of our belongings and put them in an industrial dryer (including our tennis shoes AND an Italian leather duffel bag). Needless

I booked a room conveniently through my Hilton Rewards app. When I arrived for check in they notified me that my room was upgraded to a suite. And of course I was excited. But there were a few issues.

First let me state the location, cleanliness, staff, affordability and spacious rooms are great.

My biggest complaint is the open shower concept. The shower is comprised of the hotel room windows. So everyone outside can see into the suite. Not much privacy for taking a shower, especially when there is construction going on at the building next door. The curtains in the bathroom don't drape

My husband and I stayed here in NY for 6 nights. I was told NY rooms are known to be small. Our first room was on the 4th floor. We asked to be higher for a nicer view. The room was a decent size. What's important for me whenever I travel is the bathrooms! :) bathrooms must be roomy and a nice shower with good water pressure! And it was thank God! Staff are nice, room was always clean with fresh clean towels. I'm not a breakfast eater but my husband is so he went every morning. He shared it was fresh every morning and really good. If you plan to have a taxi or uber pick you up be aware

This was a tale of Jeckyl and Hyde.

The "good" - clean lobby, friendly staff, reasonable rates and a decent size room with clean bedding, including a freshly cleaned duvet. The workout room was adequate and the breakfast area down a level was also quite comfortable.

The "bad" - you can't avoid the elevator "ding" as all the rooms are close to the elevators. The worst was the shower head being full of mold (gross out). The building across the street is under construction with lights on all floors blazing all night, and the curtains to the room did not block it
