West Coast Martial Arts, Reno aims to create a positive and accepting "home away from home", a Martial Arts Learning Center, where our Martial Arts Family learn and practice much more than just self-defense and fitness and unite as a team respecting and supporting one another and strengthening our community.
Martial Arts on the Move is a "Traveling Dojo" that offers quality, convenient, affordable Martial Arts that travels to you! Caughlin Preschool is currently our only Traveling Dojo. This learning center offers MARTIAL ARTS conveniently located at their facility! Martial Arts can be an asset to your center.
Our Ninja Turtle program is a special program for children from ages 3 - 7 years old. Our Ninja Turtles can be distinguished by their camo-belts and follow modified curriculum designed to help even the youngest ninjas learn to be safe and disciplined.

KJN Denice Challender-Slater, a Reno local, has been training and teaching Martial Arts for almost 30 years! Her roots are with the West Coast World Martial Arts Association and Grand Masters KJN Ernie Reyes, Sr. and KJN Tony Thompson. Dedicating her life to being a Martial Artist, inside and out, she opened Martial Arts on the Move, Inc. in1997.
It takes a village. Martial Arts unites us Our Studio is our home away from home. We are more than a TEAM, we are FAMILY. We support one another, encourage one another, inspire and motivate each other and celebrate each other when we achieve our goals. We help each other raise our families and grow within ourselves.

Our two children (one boy and one girl) are (or have) participated in the Ninja program at WCMA, and they both love it. Our 8-year-old has now graduated and is continuing in the kid’s program. We have been coming to the studio for over two years, and it is an amazing program. Self-defense aside, KJN Denice has created a program and family that has been so valuable in nearly every aspect of life. Our children have learned self-discipline, integrity, commitment, and can carry themselves in confidence. Ms. Denice is an amazing human and instructor. We love Ms. Denice and all the incredible instructors! We have been with this studio for almost three years and have never had a bad class - ever! This MMA school isn't just about learning the West Coast fighting system, it's about teaching the kids about being a good human, how to have self discipline and self control. The kids always leave empowered, confident, and a little wiser. It is such a positive influence in our lives.

When we think about martial arts we immediately think about self-defense. However, the lessons that come along with martial arts are those that instill and nurture morality, integrity, self discipline, respect (for self and others), confidence, listening to your intuition and staying safe, concentration and intention! We started our 4 year old daughter about 6 months ago and couldn't be happier. She is quite the princess, but has really taken to martial arts, even though she can't wear a tutu. We had taken her to another studio first, but she was too bored in class. Denice does such a great job with the kids and just knows how to communicate with them and she is learning so much more than just karate. Now I am taking fitness classes, too. So nice to get my workout in while my daughter has her class.
