Taekwondo is a modern Korean martial art, characterized by fast high, jumping, spinning kicks and quick footwork. It is an all-around program that offers self-defense training, physical exercise, and artistic expression- all taught by an experienced professional instructor. Children who train regularly have better self-control and are more courteous and respectful outside of class as well.
Today it has become a global sport that has gained an international reputation, and stands among the official games in the Olympics. It is the most widely practiced of all martial arts, with over 150 million practitioners in 160 countries. Developed over 2000 years ago in Korea, it is a dynamic sport, which can be practiced at any age.

If you saw the last review by Scott Ibarra, we have no idea who this person is, he has never been to First Taekwondo or has ever been student at First Taekwondo. Not sure who he is or what he is about but he has nothing to do or has never been associated with First Taekwondo, Nevada Taekwondo, Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Federation or USA Taekwondo as far as we know. He's integrity is definitely in question.

We've been a member of the First TaeKwondo family for almost a year and after speaking with other TKD parents from other dojos, I realize what an amazing community we've joined. My kiddo has learned discipline and structure in his physical activity, along with appreciation for the skill levels of others. Master Tanner is such a professional that connects with the students on an individual level and does an amazing job of serving as a secondary adult influence in a child's life.

I trained here with the UNR Taekwondo Club (who trains at First Taekwondo) for 2 years and fell in love at first practice. Now I have graduated and train with the adult class at First Taekwondo. The skill and professionalism of this Olympic-style taekwondo school and its Master, Ron Tanner, is unmatched and if you are looking for a martial art school for kids, teens, or adults, I would highly recommend First Taekwondo.
As for details:

Adult class M-Th 6:30pm-8:00pm, F 6:30pm-7:30pm.
Students new to First Taekwondo are welcome to try out classes before deciding

I've been a part of First Taekwondo/Nevada Taekwondo for over 2 years now and I highly recommend the school for all ages. They have a kids and adults class Monday through Friday. It's one of the only Olympic style taekwondo schools in northern Nevada and their curriculum reflects it. Practices focus on belt level forms, kicks, sparring, and self defense. The community here is incredibly welcoming and a great place for kids to learn discipline, stay active, and make friends! First Taekwondo actively participates in northern and southern California tournaments and consistently places

I have been training here for two years, and I love it. It's a great workout, especially for anyone looking to improve their overall fitness and flexibility, while also learning Olympic style martial arts. Master Tanner is student-focused and is great with all his students, especially the kids. He is always eager to help students learn more, become more confident, and push them to do their best. He will help you develop into an accomplished martial artist and disciplined individual both inside and outside the studio.
