Perfect place for basic nail patterns! Staff were super patient and careful. Unlike some other (nail) salons, this salon takes appointments seriously - they don’t take walk-ins, so you won’t have to wait one single minute if you have an appointment. (They allow same-day appointment tho, as long as there’re remaining slots.) I used to go to other nail salons for more complicated nail designs, but I love the service here so much that I decide to switch to this salon and do simple-but-still-super-cute nails next time.

They were dishonest and wouldn't honor the promotions on their website. What would they do to my hair and are they honest about their COVID procedures?

I walked in thinking this was going to be a good expiernce.. but first of all I was waiting quite awhile because my stylist was late (I can forgive that) but, I came in with rosy red hair, asking to go bright ginger. They did a Malibu rinse, a bleach bath all these things I was there for over four hours. She used two toners on me and left them on for a very long time.. spins me around in the chair and my hair is dark brown.:O I was mortified. I got a blowout here, my blowout lasted 5 days, it was windy and cold that weekend, but my hair still stayed full with waves at the bottom. I naturally have curly hair, so I'm surprised with how great my hair looked despite weather conditions.

Went in for a "covid" hair cut. Did a decent job on my hair. Conversation was friendly until towards the end when the srylist began to criticize the color of my hair. I let her know that I don't dye my hair-yet. I don't feel the need to. She kept pushing telling me how odd my color was. I told her my mixed up ethnic background was the cause of my dark hair. She claimed that she had never seen such a color before in her 20 years of styling. She still wouldn't drop the subject until I finally escaped out of the booth chair. Got my hair cut and colored a few months ago. Emily was great she listened to what I wanted and did exactly that. I went back last week for my root touch up - she read my mind about what I want for my next color appointment. The atmosphere is inviting, they offer fresh coffee and hot tea, place is very clean and all the girls are super friendly & professional. Fair pricing. Highly recommend! Thank you!

I went in today for eyebrow wax never having visited the salon before. The Salon space was clean, spacious and aesthetically pleasing. There was zero wait time for my appointment and the aesthetician/salon co-owner who Did my waxing was very friendly and professional. I felt very comfortable and was quickly in and out. I will add Covid precautions were on point (!) with extra precautions to keep all safe such as bulk available sanitizer, temperature screen and masks on all. I can't wait to return! Very pleasant!

I have been going to Shushu for a year now for threading and she has completely transformed my face. On top of that, she always gives great advice on skin care, hair care and more, which I find deeply helpful. And the icing on the cake, she knits beautiful winter scarves, hats and accessories and sells them at a very very reasonable price. Everyone is always so friendly at the spa on top of all that! I definitely recommend this place above and beyond.

I am new to the area and loved my hairdresser where I lived previously. I have baby fine hair and not everyone knows how to deal with it. Lindsey did a terrific job highlighting and cutting my chin length bob. Everyone was very friendly. The salon is attractive and comfortable. I will definitely be going back.

This is for Avissa Skin+Body. I went to a laser hair removal touch up and didn't see any results. It was unbelievable painful, she spent 2x as much time on one are than the other and it was overpriced for a touch up. Very friendly staff but I've had far better experiences and outcomes else where.

Kimia did an amazing job on my color! I came in with dark brown hair that had dyed red ends, asking to go light ash brown and she completely pulled it off. She was also very thorough and transparent about what she was doing. I'm definitely going to become a regular!

Horrible eyebrow threading experience. The lady who did my eyebrows used some blade, and made a deep cut on my forehead. When I complained that it is paining, instead of apologizing, she kept saying that 'Yes, it is bleeding a little but beauty comes with the pain'. Horrible !! I have been getting my eyebrows threaded throughout my life, but have never experienced this before. Not coming here ever again.

Have gone here before with good results. But my girl no longer works there so I went to another lady. I shared a pic of what I wanted and was very specific about wanting strawberry blonde.

She had me look at color swatches and pointed out a few. I told her she was the expert and I was ok with whatever as long as it was like my picture.

Welp, the result was NOT even close to what I wanted. When I mentioned that it wasn't what I wanted, she said it will lighten with washes.‍

I always get a little nervous trusting people with my blonde hair (hey, blonde is tricky and requires a lot of care) but I couldn't be more happy about the way my cut and color turned out. I needed so much work to the back of my head that my old hair stylist had neglected but I walked out like a completely new person.

I went in about a week ago for an ombre/balayage and the color did not come out how either me or the stylist wanted. She immediately apologized and worked to get me back in as soon as possible to fix it. I came in and had the color corrected for free. I really appreciated that she stood by her work and was willing to do anything to make me happy.

Was exploring the Ann Arbor area Wednesday and found this place after being recommended to check it out. I had the best experience. Kimia, gave me a wash a blow dry. She is great, and experienced with ethnic hair. Also got a gel manicure. The service was excellent and the front staff is as well. Makan was very helpful, and suggested places for me to go. Next time I'm back in the area, i will stop by. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the Ann Arbor area.

This review is actually for Avissa Skin+Body, which is located just a few doors down from the salon. I went in yesterday for a Brazilian wax by Michelle.

I dread getting this service done, but it was actually a pleasant experience with Michelle. She's warm and bubbly, and I felt comfortable right away. We chatted nonstop throughout the appointment, and before I knew it, we were all done. I appreciate how thorough she was and that she didn't try to upsell me on anything at all. At one point, she mentioned laser hair removal, but she didn't try to push it on me.

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It is apparent that Avissa is disorganized and cares very little about their clients.

I am truly baffled that I could be turned down for a service that I had explicitly made an appointment for. I wish I would have done more research on this establishment as it seems this is a very common theme for this salon.

Disappointed and will never return.

Do yourself a favor and book time with Manu! She does such a fantastic job on my nails, hair removal, and even henna (amongst other things).

Overall this salon is top notch. Classy but not pretentious.

I have been going here for over a year now, and I love it. Never had a negative experience, and my husband recently started getting his hair cut here as well and loves it. They always take the time necessary to make sure you are satisfied. Kristin does a superb job with color and cut. Only been here for hair though, so cannot comment as to other services. But have done color, highlights, Brazilian Blowout, and got great results with all.

This place is excellent. I'm new to the area and I was in need of a hair cut. Not knowing where to go I decided to search on google maps for hair salons. After looking at a few places I noticed Avissa had lots of good reviews. So, I decided to go there.
Everyone was very nice and polite. The place was easy to find and it was very clean inside. All the reviews I read were spot on. This place is great.
I didn't know who to ask for, instead I asked for a stylist that was good with men, specifically a man with longer hair. The receptionist set me up with an appointment with Kristin. She was awesome
