Curly hair alert! I should have run for the door when, despite asking for less than an inch taken off the overall length, I saw a six inch chunk of my curly hair fall onto my lap. When I expressed concern and reminded Eric that I liked chunky curls he said, "You didn't need that hair, trust me." So, like a fool, I did.
When I got home and began looking at my hair I was in shock. Eric had went through my curls and cut off off about 80% of any given curl 4 to 6 inches up from the end. This left me with a head full of spiky, whispy, 4-6 inch rat tails that stick up all over

I trust that Eric likely knows how to cut ANY type of hair, but I can CONFIRM that Eric is the master of curly hair. Mine, in particular, is curly but also very fine- he wasn't even phased by the challenge, he actually knew exactly what to do and explains what he's going to do along the way.
He is friendly, down to earth, highly skilled, and NO PRESSURE. No pressure to try certain cuts, colors and especially no pressure to buy products. That is a big thing for me... I absolutely despise it when a stylist spends an hour and a half talking to you like a person, and then turns into a cheeky

Eric was awesome! Gave me a great haircut, tailored to my thin, curly hair (which isn't curly all over and can be challenging). He also gave me some useful, everyday tips in managing my hair without adding any trouble to my routine or extra costs toward my budget. New to the city, I was happy to find someone who is talented, friendly and helpful. Looking forward to my next appointment!

If you're looking for amazing hair, friendly stylists, and adorable decor look no further. D'Anna is a true pro and the salon is a hidden gem. I went in to get a fresh cut & balayage for the summer after not having a cut or color for well over a year. D'Anna listened to my concerns and made me feel completely comfortable before we even began. The atmosphere is welcoming and quaint- a welcome departure from the typical salon experience. Eric is my hair's soulmate. He did my curly cut for years and I loved it. I followed him from NE Minneapolis to St. Paul. Which for Minneapolis girl, is pretty big step to drive to St. Paul for anything ;)
Jokes aside. This spring before I got married I told him "Eric, I want to do something different. I don't want you to cut my hair curly."
I wanted to switch to a style that could be easily blow dried straight or wavy but also every now and then I could wear curly. I needed something versatile for all the showers, parties, and events I'd be attending. He heard me out

Eric Ticknor changed my life. It sounds strange to say, but hair is an integral part of your appearance, and now I know that vibrant curly hair rhymes so much with my own personality. To be able to have hair that matches you on the inside and that also looks consistently fabulous is really good for your psyche and self-esteem.
