After a decade in commercial construction, Raj Hayden began her career as a home inspector, the first woman in the Puget Sound region to enter the industry. She founded Cardinal Home Inspection in 1990 and remains actively engaged in her field.

When Raj conducts your pre-purchase inspection, she can discuss her findings with you on-site and answer any questions you might have. In addition, she'll document the results of your pre-purchase inspection in a written report that will be emailed to you the same day as the inspection. It will include specific details on the condition of the house, complete with illustrative photographs, and will prioritize issues that may need attention.

I worked with Raj on two home inspections and my conversations with her as well as her written reports gave me a solid understanding of a range of issues. It was very clear to me that she's extremely knowledgeable and experienced in her work. I appreciated her willingness to speak with me (even past 8:30 pm!) before I made an offer. We needed to have a home pre-inspected and our agent recommended Raj. I'm glad he did! Raj was thorough, efficient, and friendly. We followed her around the home and she clearly and patiently explained everything to us as she went. She spotted lots of things and did a great job of communicating the varying levels of urgency with which to address different repairs - she let us know what we would want to look for to indicate that repair is needed, and described the risks we might want to consider when prioritizing repairs. I would absolutely hire Raj again and definitely recommend her to a friend

Raj completed an amazingly thorough pre-inspection for us. She was not the first inspector to go through the house, but she hit on everything every other inspector had found and a few things no one else called out. The home owner was present for of of the inspections and said Raj is the one he would be hiring when he buys a house.

Raj was very helpful and very very thorough. She found a number of issues that I hadn't suspected before talking to her. She was also very easy to understand and communicate with. I asked her a ton of questions during the inspection, and she never rushed me, always took the time to address anything I had to ask. This is my first home purchase, so she also gave me a lot of tips on things to watch for given my houses current condition.

I have worked with Raj numerous times and think she's great. She's a detailed, conscientious & very experienced home inspector with a gift for client communication. She can talk to brainiacs and simpletons, and both will walk away understanding the general condition of the home they're contemplating purchasing, how to proceed with repairs and how to handle ongoing maintenance. She's a rarity in the field.

I used to be a Realtor and have been to many home inspections. Raj was one of the inspectors whom I had the pleasure of dealing with many times with clients. I never had any complaints from clients after purchasing a house she inspected.

I thought Raj was wonderful and through in our recent home inspection. She is friendly but professional and efficient. She explained everything in 'laymans' terms and encouraged our participation and understanding of all she was seeing. She very clearly knew what she was talking about and pointed out the details she was looking for during her inspection and evaluation process. The (same day!) report she gave was very complete, color coded and divided into more and less emergent issues as well as recommendations for resolution. Raj came to us highly recommended by our real estate agent (who is actually Penny B. below's business partner). During the inspection process, she was really wonderful and I couldn't ask for more. She really teaches you about your house while she does the inspection, and sends a very complete and thorough email summary of everything she found. She told us about many small maintenance and repair issues on our 1911 home that we should take care of, and was very honest about rating them as things we should do now, soon, when we get around to it, or just leave until something breaks.

Raj is awesome. She was very thorough and honest in her inspection. She was happy to walk through the house with me after she was done and explain all the things that needed fixing and things that I might need to fix down the road. She also showed me key things like where to turn of the natural gas, electricity and water.
