We hand pick all the products, in order to serve the freshest testing ingredients to our guests. We offer inside and outside catering. Maya Palenque Restaurant was first established in 1976 by the Lepe family that had the authentic recipes from Yucatan, Mexico.
Flour tortilla cheese & your choice of: Ground beef, shredded chicken or beef, pork, or mixed veggies. Served with shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, & guacamole. A large sampler plate of chicken taquitos, cheese quesadilla, & miniature tortillas topped with sour cream, refried beans, shredded chicken, beef, chorizo, & ground beef.
Prawns sauteed in garlic butter & served over a bed of crab meat, with tomato sauce & cheese. Pork tenderloin sauteed with pineapple, peppers, peppers, & carrots in a teriyaki style sauce. Served with plantains & sour cream. Grilled chicken, melted jack cheese, mixed peppers, & onions layered with our delicious mole sauce.

If I could give this place 4.5 stars I would. I was helped quickly and the team member was super kind.
I ordered a veggie burrito and I am SOOOOO grateful they fill it with
actual veggies vs. just some lettuce and pico like so many other places do.
My only 2 complaints are that that although I love the fact that the veggies were not cooked to mush, they were nearly raw, so something in between would have been nice. Also because I can't eat dairy, I would have liked for them to put a little more than a tablespoon of guacamole on it. I know avocados are crazy expensive right now, but since I had

My daughters name is Maya so went for the experience of having her name on a restaurant. 1st impressions was that the place needed some cleaning, floor seemed dirty and the chairs had velvet covers and attracted a lot of lint, dirt and other stuff. Salsa was ok, the red one was super salty and the green one was good. I ordered the tropical pork and the Maya Palenque margarita. I very much enjoyed my margarita and my meal was delicious. Rare Novato nights that we need a late dinner after 10pm. No many choices to take my daughter after her homecoming dance. Maya Palenque to the rescue.
Been here many time for lunch but first time this late of a dinner at 10pm.
Excellent service by Carlos again, and two of the chefs were very attentive to come by and check on his and practice our Spanish again. Nice lady I'm who took our order too. We were one of two parties in the dining area and I was surprised so much attention.
Food came out super fast and muy caliente. Everything was great especially the grande margarita

We always seem to end up here for super special date days for my hubby and me. That day was no different. Great food, great drinks, and great service, every time! The atmosphere is perfect for our personalities. We were a little bummed that the back deck was rented for a party, but that was fine, we enjoyed seeing others having fun! Oh, and I LOVE the artwork!

Ahhh, me and my father go here every Sunday during the football season. We always get there before it opens and wait right until they open, then once they do we go on the couch and we get man with the plan to set the channel to the Buffalo Bills(Best defense out there) and then I ALWAYS get cranberry juice and watch the game. When I hanker up my appetite I get the Burrito with just rice and cheese(ol' rusty never failed me). They are the best I've EVER eaten in my life, they are godsend. The little bits of corn make my day and really set my track for success. The community in the restaurant is

This restaurant is understaffed, the food lacks any authentic Mexican spice whatsoever, and the rice tasted like it was cooked in dirty French fry grease. There was nothing authentic or Mexican about the place. Each item on my plate tasted the same as the other. Rice like chimichanga, chimichanga like the beans. The beans were so gross they were laden with lard. Come on seriously! You have the opportunity to create some great food but you decide to sell bland baby food greased food.

Bummer..so they list Happy Hour and have plenty of tables to do happy hour but they do not do happy hour..so guess we'll go to another Mexican restaurant that does have happy hour..
The website looks great and happy hour menu is superb but not offering it doesn't make sense to generate interest to get out from the home and drive business to their restaurant..
hope they will see this and make that change a filled table spending money is better than an empty one taking money down the street..

Since my last review I moved away from walking distance to downtown. This has kept me from going to my "usual places" for many things. While I do miss the convenience of being so close I am loving the variety of new and revisited options Novato has to offer, Maya Palenque being one!
We have had several birthday dinners, graduation celebrations, promotions. Anything that required large table seating and their staff is aways so accommodating and patient.
On Sunday 6/14 we took a chance to see if patio dining was open/available, happily surprised...they were.

I can't believe it was my first time visiting this place! I came here recently because it was close to my work and it opens late (closes at midnight). They have a private lot and it's right off the highway exit on 101. They have bar seating as well as a more secluded area for dining. There was at least 4 TV in the dining area if you want to watch any games. The service was attentive and fast. Although, there weren't many people since it was later in the evening on a weekday. We were served complimentary nachos with two types of salsa (green and a red), both tasty and not too spicy
