My husband & I have tried numerous Curry and Indian food restaurants during our extensive travels across the U.S. None can compare with Lotus…it is truly THE BEST. The food is flavorful & delicious. The gluten free naan is amazing. We moved away from Novato last year and literally return so we can eat at Lotus.

First time visiting Lotus and it was so good! I brought a friend who hadn't had much experience with Indian food and after some really stellar Indian food in London a few years back, I've not found much comparable here. We were hungry so we dropped by. It was a bit close to closing.
Really glad we did. The food was really good and the host was very gracious. The veg biriyani was the best I've ever had. Loaded with goodies.

The restaurant is conveniently located in downtown Novato and offers plenty of Indoor and outdoor seating and a comprehensive menu, with plenty of vegetarian options. Service is friendly, but very slow, so wouldn't recommend if you have planned to be in and out in less than 90 minutes. The food was ok, but while one could choose "mild, moderate or strong" heat, the dishes lacked the more complex flavors one typically associates with Indian spicing. The greatest disappointment was the breads, the chapatis were hard, the paratha were not flaky and all breads were slathered in way too much butter

One of my favorite restaurants, this team makes the most delicious Indian food. The ingredients are also very high quality and organic (important to me). Everyone there is also extremely friendly! They also play beautiful Indian ragas and Indian classical, so the ambiance is beautiful.
Highly recommended, especially their coconut curry! Yum!

The chef at Lotus Curry is absolutely wonderful one of the best Indian chef ever. I had the shrimp curry, and it was so good and so tasty , I couldn't stop eating it. I even took some home with me. If you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine this is the place to come. I highly recommend it. I drove from Napa to eat here.
