Riverbank Animal Hospital is proud to serve the Kinston, NC area for everything pet-related. Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Julie Garren, who is a licensed, experienced Kinston veterinarian. Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty six days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as accidental ingestion of rat poison, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion.

1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) checks and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.
Riverbank Animal Hospital offers a progressive new approach to veterinary care. Our Wellness Program embraces a focus on preventative medicine based on the specific life-stage of your pet. Riverbank in Kinston needs to improve. We called before coming to ask if they could see our pet and they agreed. I found this walk-in experience extremely inconvenient and a showing of poor customer service. I signed in prior to 2pm. I was 2nd on the sign-up sheet.
We sat until 4:00pm still unseen (with 2 kids waiting and a doggy in a diaper and someone else's pet urine on the floor), while the waiting room literally emptied around us. I asked at around 3:30 if we should schedule for toe nail clippings or a full check up to be seen sooner and the receptionist stated that would delay our visit

Riverbank offers excellent veterinary care for my pets as well as low cost spay/neuter. I care for a small colony of feral cats in New Bern & wouldn't be able to prevent them from breeding without Riverbank's generous policy. I love the walk in anytime feature! Riverbank staff are professional, caring, thorough, compassionate and will work with you to ensure your pets get the best care possible!

Friday afternoon was busy, but expected.
The office waiting area was clean, the exam room was moderately clean, I could see there was dried urine on the floor.
I did see a level of immaturity from 2 technicians - they both ran from the exam rooms, yelling and giggling as if they were chasing each other, through the the front door into the parking lot. They both casually walked back into the building and back into the exam room.
I'm not sure what happened, but the commotion startled my pup and other pups.
Overall, I do recommend this

This morning we brought our black lab in with what we suspected was an ear infection. An emergency came in right after we got there which required the vet to go into surgery. The tech that was working with us was extremely helpful, listened to our concerns and made some suggestions. She then took a swab of each ear and went to look under the microscope. As suspected there is an infection in both ear. She consulted with the vet and came back and told us what she found and what she had discussed with the vet. She asked if we wanted to wait to see the vet after she was done with the emergency surgery

My husband and I own The Dobieden and are responsible for numerous AKC doberman pinschers. If it wasn't for the exceptional veterinarians and staff at Riverbank Animal Hospital, we would NEVER be able to provide new families with quality pups. Riverbank has taken care of our dogs for over 20 years and I have not found another medical facility with personnel so concerned for the welfare of the animals they treat, and the people who care for them. Doberman pups require certain procedures done in a timely basis, because of the breed itself. Never have I been turned away or been treated any differently

I took my female pregnant American bully to get a c section at Riverbank they did an excellent job with her. They are professionals and give really good customer service and are not expensive. They give reasonable prices. I would recommend them and this is my vet for now on.

I truly cannot day enough good things about this fantastic Vet Hospital!! We moved here from another State, so I was a bit apprehensive about finding a new Veterinarian.
Not long after moving here, my big sweet Lab rescue got an ear infection. I called every vet hospital in New Bern and the quickest I could be fit in was in a week!! I was in a panic! Fortunately I was told to give Riverbank Vet Hospital a call. I did and they said they don't take appointments they're a walk in hospital. So Winston and I were on our way! It was about a thirty minute drive. Easy to find with GPS.

We got our new Amstaff puppy and wanted to get his ears cropped . Riverbank was recommended to us by our veterinarian but we were told it was about an hour & a half drive away.

My dog was having some issues so we looked into a place close to home. I checked out the reviews and found Riverbank very favorable. When we got there we were welcomed immediately even for a Saturday walk in. The receptionist was happy and upbeat. She never got flustered and seemed to care about everyone that walked in the door. The waiting area is clean and pleasant. They were busy and we did have to wait a while but I expected that with a walk in. When we got to the room they kept us informed and even offered us coffee. So kind and patient with my hurt furbaby. They really worked efficiently

We were in town for a foodie adventure, however our hotel did not accept pets. I travel with two Corgis, both show dogs, of whom I am very protective. So the daring duo got to spend a night at the Riverbank "spa." This was the first time in their two years they had been boarded. What a great experience. The dogs came out clean, happy and enthusiastic. I would recommend the Riverbank to everyone!

Was going to write a great review for this business...until today. Starting off we got our doberman (Langston) ears cropped its the only vet close to jacksonville that does it , they did awesome work got us in and out no problem. I understood that i would have to come back and forth pretty much every other day to make sure langston was taken care of....after the second visit i noticed the wait time was getting longer and longer to be seen (an hour) today he was supposed to get his stitches out, i arrived at 9:00am was put in a room and sat until 10:15 when a vet came in and told me the only girl

I brought one of my two cats here for a second opinion. I had had her twice to a vet for checkups as she was a recent rescue who had some symptons that we were concerned with. At both visits she was given an antibiotic injection as well as pain medicine. Never was it suggested that any tests be done, they just treated the symptons, though I had asked about a blood test to find out what was ailing her.
The vet that I saw here, listened patiently while I described my concerns especially with the multiple issues that my cat was dealing with. After she reviewed my kitty records and the treatment

The vets at Riverbank have always been the ones to care for my animals, even when I have lived hours from Kinston...it's been worth the drive for the care and attention that they have given to my animals. Their costs have always remained low in comparison to the treatment that my furry family members have received! Thank you Dr. Randall & Dr. Garren!!
