The purpose of a home inspector is to visually and thoroughly examine a property. The ability to do this effectively involves skills that take many years to develop and refine. Some inspectors are far better at this than others. Unfortunately, most people don't realize this when they hire a home inspector, and spend little, if any, time selecting one.

If you are thinking of purchasing a home, you may want to consider having a radon test in conjunction with your inspection. You cannot see it, smell it or taste it. The truth is that Radon can be found anywhere because it comes from inside the earth. It can be found in any type of building.
It typically moves up through the ground to the air above into a home through cracks and other holes in the foundation and becomes trapped inside, where it can build up.The EPA recommends that you obtain information about the radon level in the home you are considering buying. They also recommend that all residences below the third floor level should be tested for radon.

I would HIGHLY recommend Dave to anyone buying a home. I found him through my mother who purchased her new house in Eden Prairie a couple years back. He was so incredibly thorough that I remembered him for when I was ready to buy our first home in Mound. He took his time to explain everything to make sure we understood what was going on, what was necessary to get fixed, what didn't necessarily need to be fixed- just noted, and helped us figure things out from start to finish. I have heard some horror stories from home inspectors not being very out-right, but Dave is the best of the biz! Thanks

He inspected our house for our new buyers and left our heat on 90 degrees! This was not a pleasant surprise to come home to after being at work for 12 hours. Three hour inspection seemed a little crazy..... everything was good with our home but when I’ve had an inspection they’ve been able to complete a very detailed inspection in two hours. As a seller I was not impressed what so ever!

I would highly recommend Dave Klutch with Harmony Home Inspections Inc. to complete a comprehensive home inspection when choosing to buying a home in the Minneapolis, MN Area. Furthermore, I would suggest you have Dave inspect your home periodically to ensure you have visibility to any issues that could potentially cause you problems as part of your ongoing preventative maintenance program for your home.
I found Dave to be honest and trustworthy...a true professional!

Dave was thorough, inexpensive, and very polite. He's the only inspector I called who congratulated me on the house purchase, as well as explaining what he'd be doing during the inspection and promising a minimum of three hours for the inspection. During the inspection he talked with me and explained what he was looking for, answered all of my questions, and I received the report promptly with clear pictures and descriptions of his finds. Can't recommend Dave enough -- when we buy another house, I'm calling Harmony Home Inspections.
