Honestly, it has all the basics that you will need: A kitchenette with microwave and fridge, cold/hot water shower, TV, A/C, a safe, local and long distance phone calls, WIFI, and bathroom necessities. We didn't expect too much. Room was clean and no roaches or bugs surprisingly; was going to book another hotel that had lots of reviews about cockroaches before Ambassador. The outside walls under the AC was starting to peel off the envelope, that would need some fixing but won't effect your enjoyment of Hawaii. Jeff and the staff are amazing, they accommodated us last minute when a flight was cancelled

It was the worst Hotel experience, I’ve ever had. I stayed there for 7 days. First the pictures you see on the website our not nothing when you see it in person. I tried to get another hotel everything was sold out. I never received any room service, I asked the front desk if someone could come to my room no one ever came. Nothing worked microwave, toaster, Remote control to the TV , window shades, couldn’t even open the door to be out in the balcony. The beds were very fun comfortable. Save your money. I don’t recommend this hotel.

So clearly, if you're reading the other reviews, this is one of the worst hotels in Waikiki. I swear to god, it's at the level of a crack den. I look at families who are checking in, and I feel a palpable sadness of what they're about to experience, their leis innocently hanging around their neck, unaware that their souvenir from Hawaii will be hepatitis after adjusting the shower head in their room.
My favorite part was the "Amenity Fee" where they bang me for an extra $30 for Wifi, the Fitness Center, etc. In other words, things that should be baked into the original

This hotel is pretty outdated. The shower needs major help. The water barely came out of the old shower head. No counter space in the bathroom. It was a partial ocean view "premium " room with a kitchenette. The cupboards need some cleaning and attention. The sliding door that led to the balcony didn't lock, lock broken. Hood thing we were on the 17th floor. However, on the plus side, the staff was pleasant and the bed was comfy.

We were suppose to stay at the Pearl Hotel in Waikiki, but they were renovating it. So, they put us in this Hotel ( that was suppose to be renovated). I was so, old and gross I thought maybe it would be better. The pictures are deceiving.
I would never return there. The building should be condemned. The service fees cost 300.00 more on top of what I paid 800.00 for 5 days.
DO NOT STAY HERE. the carpet was stained, the shower water would not go down.
The only good thing was the employees working there, were so, nice and professional.
Stay at your own risk!!!!!!!

It's not the newest or fanciest place but it's clean. That's not why I'm reviewing it. I live in Hawaii but I sometimes pick up side jobs in Waikiki. I used an app called hotels tonight. It's an app that finds last minute hotel rooms. So it's a little tricky because you can't usually do that after midnight online. I was extremely tired. I work very hard and a lot. I had eating something that didn't agree with me I had a headache and I just wanted to go to bed I didn't wanna go all the way across the island to Kaneohe.
I paid for a room at the ambassador

We just returned from our trip at the Ambassador. Despite the negative reviews, we very much enjoyed our stay here. This isn't a luxury hotel. But if you are looking for something affordable in Waikiki with clean rooms, comfortable beds, hot/cold water, good water pressure, functional kitchens and walking distance to the beach, I would highly recommend the Ambassador Waikiki. Jeff at the front desk, along with the others, were extremely friendly and accommodating. Maintenance and housekeeping were also friendly and excellent. There were tiny issues but everything was done immediately and efficiently

I stayed here once and it was my first & last! It was in horrible condition and the photos did not match! Thank god it's no longer in service it was time for them to remodel and upgrade! (As of 1/21) it could have been out of service for some time now but I booked with a hotel across from it "hotel laCroix" & noticed they were closed for business maybe they couldn't keep up with their #s during covid who knows but yea that's the update on the ambassador!

This place has wonderful accomodations as well as an awesome staff. Oh and the management here took upon texting me to welcome me here after I've checked in. And when I thought that there may be something wrong with the sliding glass door to my balcony was jammed, they quickly sent up the maintenance guy and he showed me what to do and made sure that there was no other problem during my stay here. Very professional and curtious. I'm sure that I will be staying here again in the near future as well as recommending it to others

Firstly our reservation clearly stated 3 occupants, 3 twin beds, and there was a confirmation of this. When we arrived our reservation became 2 queen beds, and the response we got was "it was booked and changed" and couldn't be changed. This should've been a warning already. We read the reviews but didn't think it would be that bad when we arrived... well it's that bad. For the price you pay, you're better off elsewhere. The few dollars you save coming here is not worth it.
We got to our room and there was house cleaning still there, literally mopping the carpet

THIS HOTEL IS A HEALTH HAZARD! Do not stay here! Save yourself the money and better get, book at Holiday Inn across the street! So much cleaner and you can see the pool, shuffle board and nicer amenities that they offer to their guests. It's like Holiday Inn is laughing at what a joke this place is...
Idk how this hotel is still up and running because the photos on sellers websites ONLY show what it "should" look like. It's deceiving. Rooms are a piece of sh**. Mold, cracked walls, bathroom tiling is dirty, carpet stains and so much more.
I was able to cancel my reservation

I don't know why this place has such a low rating. We stayed here for a week last October for our 10-year wedding anniversary. We picked the hotel on Travelocity. We knew when we booked the hotel it had a moderate rating on the website, so we weren't expecting a lavish 4-star hotel. Thus no surprises when we checked in and found your average hotel with average rooms and amenities. People complaining about not getting a fancier room for the price probably don't understand that ANYTHING in Honolulu is going to be MAD expensive, even places like this. So we weren't at all shocked

I would like to point out if there were a zero I would definitely give this location a zero.
1. Front desk lady was rude, short fused, and condescending. She spoke to me like I was her bratty teenager. Atno time did I ever get rude with her I was just inquiring about the 3 separate hidden fees they dropped on me when I made a purchase through my Southwest rewards Credit Card it stated that there would not be any further charges and we were paid in full. Ok fine I missed some small print, understandable. When she handed me the parking card (that I had to beg her for because it was a bit early

Don't be fooled, this hotel is at best 2 stars. I've been to better motels. This hotel is located at the end of the strip with lots of shops and the beach. There is a Coffee Bean right next to the hotel which is the few good things about this hotel. There is also a convenience store next to the hotel.
The room we booked is very outdated. There is a pool, a fitness center, a business center, and a place to fill up drinking water. Pictures on other travel sites are professionally done. Pictures on Yelp are the real deal. $20 amenities fee and $26 for parking per night. Total

I'd give no stars but its not possible. For starters I was given my room key walked in to a wrecked room with PEOPLE sleeping in it. The bathroom was pretty gross and the room itself lacked in every way. I would've left and drove home however drinking and driving is never an option. We used our clothes to cover the pillows. I can honestly say I will NOT EVER RETURN. Crappy way to start a new year.

Ambassador Hotel- While your staff is amazing, the overall condition of the hotel is not. While I realize and appreciate that you are operating a budget hotel in the tropics, I've also stayed at enough hotels at all price levels to recognize one that has reached a point of undeniable decline. My room (in the Diamond tower) was shabby but clean and acceptable. My friend stayed in the Ewa tower and reported a shower with rotting pieces, gouges in the cinderblock walls, and the run down feeling of a roadside motel on the mainland. We paid similar amounts for our rooms, so while I walked away

From the start, I knew that the Ambassador Hotel was just the basics. I was not prepared for what I experienced.
The lobby area is well presented and staff are friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the 3-D fish art on the walls by the reservation desks. There is even a water dispenser for water bottles! Nice. Other than the lobby, the rest is down hill.
My bf's mother booked this hotel for a two night stay because she was flying into town for a medical procedure. Although I did not spend the night, I got to witness this dump that I would hardly even call a "hotel."

Ambassador Hotel is located on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki. There is a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf shop on the premises as well as the Expedia representative.
I reserved a room for a one night stay at the hotel since I was scheduled to work in Waikiki the next morning. I arrived at the hotel and was greeted by the friendly front desk employees.
I was helped by one of the female employees. Upon checking in I received a yellow collapsible water bottle with the hotel's name on it. I was informed that the room I reserved would be located in the second tower....just head out the double doors and

This budget hotel gets four stars from this world traveler.
Located right on the edge of Hawaii's world famous Waikiki, the Ambassador Hotel gives the travel weary soul everything needed for a relaxing stay. No matter if you came by boat, air, or during rush hour by car on the H-1, the staff at the front desk is always ready with a smile and a bit of aloha for each guest.

PHOTOS ARE FALSEY ADVERTISED. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Would give zero if YELP allowed.
Thankfully, we just needed one night and are leaving early in the morning.
The photos in our third party booking site showed a clean, bright and modern room. What we got is a commercial carpet, white tile, run down room. Im so disappointed. What a way to end our vacation.
I hope this place closes down asap because of consistent negative reviews... Not worth my money
Place comes with nothing. $20 for wifi. $26 for parking (always full apparently) they tell you to park a block away that is about ~$26.
Do what that
