I stayed at the Equus from Nov 17-23 and my stay was great. The level of hospitality and service you get from the staff is unmatched. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the cleaning service but BE AWARE that the paper they give when you check in SAYS that because of COVID-19, staff won't come in as often to change your sheets/do a full clean UNLESS you go downstairs to ask for that! I was fine with just receiving fresh towels everyday, but it's frustrating to see that people don't carefully read the paper and complain about the cleaning services, especially when everything

If I could give less than 1 star, I would.
We checked in, it was late. There was absolutely zero parking accommodations. Nor did they have any parking for the overflow of cars that belonged to the guests. I had 2 children with me, one was in a stroller, and nowhere on the website I booked with did it say that there was no stroller or wheelchair access. We had to carry our stroller up a long flight of stairs just to check in. That would had been fine once we were able to relax in our room, but once we got to our room and settled down, the bathroom smelled like urine and the a/c unit did not work

I would give no stars if I could. This was one of the most uncomfortable disgusting stays I've ever had at a hotel.
We checked in and did not even stay for more than 12 hours as soon as it got dark cockroaches started coming out of the refrigerator and all over our room they even got into our luggage when we called down to the front desk to notify them the lady said there's nothing that she could do until the morning they did not offer to switch us rooms.
Myself and my boyfriend had to take shifts sleeping to make sure that they wouldn't get close enough to our bed. I feel that this

This place is not what is seems like. The pictures are misleading and the place is not nearly as it would suggest. There is no house keeping. The biggest issue is that it's super noisy. There's like a large HVAC unit outside and it's just buzzing and running at all times. There's a lot of options out there for this price point.

HOWEVER, the staff is super nice and friendly. Like out of their way friendly.

Small roaches in the room. Overcharged $30 for parking for the night of the day that I checked out even at 7am! I called, emailed, and filled in the hotel online form but no one has responded to me so far. Don't recommend.

Nice hotel in a better area close to Hilton Hawaiian village beach and the mall
Better prices than anywhere else in waikiki
And then there is the bar a VERY GOOD PLACE for drinks
Heavy on the pour
Seems like they give away a lot of complimentary drinks
How they remain open with the pouring costs is beyond me but hey it's all good with my friends who drink there a lot
Go get some good free and heavy poured drinks

Super far from the airport. Cost $$$ just to get to the hotel. No elevator from the bottom, had to take stairs with 50 pound bags. My husband lost a day of sight seeing because he hurt his back lifting the bags up the stairs.

Pretty run down room. Tape holding together the main lamp in the room. A football game from 10 years ago was turned on and playing in the room. Odd. No soap in the bathroom. Very dated and old.

Big mixup that neither the hotel staff or Priceline is taking responsibility for. I paid $20 more per night for a room with two beds- 1 king and 1 double. After we checked in and

We enjoyed our stay at this boutique hotel in Waikiki. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Kollett at the front desk who gave us lots of Hawaiian momma love. We really appreciate her as she made us feel at home and taken care of. Parking is limited but they found a way to accommodate when the lot was full. Our room was clean and we had all the essentials. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much!

Came here in May 2021 and the service is amazing. Please come here, because it's the few places that are LOCALLY OWNED, and has been here forever. The satff here are so friendly and we need to support them. Renne is the best! They also have a bar down stairs and what is dope they use metal straws.

I come here once a week from Maui and I'd rather stay here than any ritzy hotel. It's got a very local welcoming feel and it's so homey. It's like staying with family. They are family run and you can feel it. I also love that they give you a free drink at the bar when you check in. The Paniolo is my home away from home. 5 stars alllll the way!

P.S. Auntie Renee at the front desk is the best!

My husband and I recently stayed at Paniolo at the Equus hotel while our apartment was under construction. This is the only remaining locally owned hotel on O'ahu and that alone made us feel really good to patron this establishment. Lovely Renee was the associate that checked us in on our arrival day. She is truly a treasure providing true local hospitality, we immediately felt her warmth and are grateful for all the days we got to see her during our stay!
We had extremely positive experiences with each of the staff members we encountered. Gulia (sorry if I'm misspelling) was our barista

This spot is in the perfect location! It is walking distance from beach, market, mall and restaurants. Not within in the hussle and bustle of Wakiki but alongside so you have some "privacy" but can walk to it quickly! The rooms are clean and comfortable which is all you need for the few hours you should be spending in it. Chad is so helpful and accommodating, he makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. Thank you!!

Doesn't mention parking charge, but you'll be hit with $29 per day parking plus $25 resort fee. That's a lot for the low class hotel.

The two people that were very unhelpful were Cher and Ursula. If you get these two, you have no luck of any sympathy or mercy in your charges.

As, Kamaaina , I will spread this word as long as I am alive, and I still have a long way before I pass.

I was really looking forward to my trip to Waikiki and to the Equus in May 2020. It was my birthday trip!

Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic hit and we had stay at place orders here in California and Hawaii also had strict quarantine orders. We had to cancel our trip.

Unfortunately, I placed the reservation through a third party website (I will not name them, but they are horrendous to deal with) and the refused to refund me. Fine, I figured I would deal directly through the hotel.

I called and was greeted by Rene. I explained to him my situation and requested to see if I could get a voucher

Stayed here as a last minute booking through Hotwire due to the reviews and the price. I've stayed at numerous boutique hotels and this really doesn't seem like one. To me it was a apartment complex turned into a mini hotel.

Parking: Much like other reviewers, you have to drive really slow, I put my hazards on while looking for the very small valet entrance. The valet service was pleasant and they helped me with my bags. Very small area and yes they charge per night. The stairs to the entrance are not for those that have bad knees or the elderly carrying luggage.

Check in: Walking

PSA: is not accessible property by no stretch of the imagination. I was told by my valet at checkin there is no elevator to the lobby check in area. That means you must walk about 13 steps to check in the lobby level to take the elevator to your room

This place is a mixed bag. The Room was clean and cute. The bathroom was functional and the coffee machine worked well. Bed and Beding was functional and comfortable. The AC is provided by a Split Unit which works well but made a fair amount of noise once I figured out the AC unit was making the noise it was easier for me to go to sleep by shutting

Cute little boutique hotel. They are an open air hotel so there is no AC in the lobby or the bar. The lobby area is small and was crowded at check in time on a Saturday afternoon. The process was super easy and pretty fast. They charge $29 a day for parking and they have a valet. You can expect a free welcome drink after check in, but don't expect it to very strong.

The bar area also doubles as a cafe and quick breakfast spot in the morning. There is no complementary breakfast but the prices are reasonable. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

Next to the bar is seating and the pool
