The International Preschools
The preschool years are a crucial window in a child's academic, social, and cultural development. In the few years spent at The International Preschools, a child will develop not only academic skills but also social skills and cultural attitudes.

At The International Preschools, where English language learners are welcomed and supported, children and families from New York City and all over the world share their cultures and gain a sense of international awareness through mutual understanding and respect.Through play, we promote the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth of each child in a nurturing atmosphere.
Services
IPS supports the diverse identities represented in its student, family, and staff community. We strive to create inclusive classrooms and a developmentally appropriate, anti-bias curriculum that represents and supports all students and teaches tolerance for people from all backgrounds.

We believe that by providing simple materials such as books, art supplies, and toys that are representative of different voices and identities, we are teaching our students compassion and understanding.
The International Preschools is governed by a Board of Trustees ("the Board") as defined in its bylaws. The Board includes current parents, parents of alumni, former directors, and other members of the community.

Committed to upholding a curriculum of play-based learning, the Board members act as stewards of the school's finances and investments to assure that The International Preschools offers innovative early childhood programs and attracts high-quality teachers and administrators.
The International Preschools has two Manhattan campuses. Each of the school locations has its own character and personality, determined in part by the different neighborhoods and buildings. All facilities were selected and designed to meet the special needs of young children, particularly their health and safety.
Children are born with natural impulses to explore; play-based learning allows children to learn naturally. They understand their world best through hands-on, sensory-based experiences that allow them to actively participate, get messy, and make meaning of both the familiar and the new. Group play leads to social interactions, providing opportunities to build social-emotional competence.
The International Preschools offers a comprehensive Specialty Program that broadens the scope of our curriculum while complementing the play-based classroom experience that defines the school. The multidisciplinary program is designed to enhance our students' cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and creative development.

Our son has been loving going here for the past two years. He made a lot of amazing friends and looks forward to going every morning. We are excited for our daughter to start next year.
