The Mississippi Health Care Association (MHCA) was established as a trade association in 1953. MHCA is Mississippi's oldest and largest association of nursing homes, personal care/assisted living homes, and Intermediate Care Facilities for the Intellectually Disabled and is the state affiliate of the American Health Care Association.
MHCA's members innovate, invest and drive the growth of resident-centered work. Some 17,000 residents rely on member facilities to demonstrate excellence by assisting with their daily needs, providing quality health care, and assuring safety.

The Mississippi Health Care Association (MHCA) was established as a trade association in 1953. The MHCA is the state affiliate of the American Health Care Association, and as such, participates in national health care events and forums.
To unite all long-term care nurses in advancing excellence in the specialty of long-term care nursing. To be an alliance of nurses who have chosen long-term care as their profession providing leadership, representation, communication, and guidance in long-term care nursing. Be a recognized organization with a unified voice for the unique needs of long-term care nurses in Mississippi.
The additional training Mississippi requires is Abuse/Neglect, Dementia Care and a skills check-off list that the facility should provide. The Mississippi Health Care Foundation helps bridge the gap between the quality of care provided in nursing home facilities and those special emotional and physical needs not covered by insurance policies, Medicare, Medicaid, or even family members. The Foundation organizes special outings and events to fulfill life-long dreams of nursing home residents.
