The home inspector , Matthew, missed the fact that the plumbing was not properly vented, resulting in us having to pay in excess of $500 to have it fixed and spending 5 nights in a hotel because our plumbing was stopped. Two different plumbers assessed the problem with the venting immediately. The inspector also missed the fact that there was a problem with the wiring for the HVAC. When we contacted CPHI to inform them and ask them for some sort of compensation, they indicated the inspector was not liable.

Matthew did my assessment also, and I was really pleased at the quality of his report and the thoroughness he did on the job with our townhouse. He did a great job with the reporting and was extremely thorough. I'm sure that in a 2000 sqft house that is 48 years old, there might be more issues than were on the report, which was 58 pages in length -- but I think more than 1 page per year the house exists is a decent amount.
