La Fortuna Bar & Restaurant is a family owned restaurant, serving Italian cuisine and Brick oven Pizza. Connecticut State and Italian food go hand-in-hand, like spaghetti and meatballs. In the late 18th thru early 20th centuries, A lot of Albanian's immigrated to Italy for many year's where they gotten tremendous experience on Italian Cuisine.
Later they flocked Italy to USA looking for opportunities in the New World, and brought their culinary traditions along with them to neighborhoods that later became Little Italy and Hell's Kitchen. Phily's the owner of La Fortuna Bar & Restaurant she is one of them.

My brother suggested KaFortuna for our family Christmas dinner. We had a 23 in our party. We enjoyed a family style starting with appetizers of fried Calamari, eggplant rottoini, antipasto, salad. The entres were steak, grilled salmon and chicken francaise. The food was great and plentiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great service.

Great local italian with larger portions, quality for a local restaurant is good. Pasta was cooked well, al dente. The restaurant is Similar to adrianna's (believe it is owned by the same people) in new haven. La Fortuna was busy so recommend a reservation. They offer specials for food and drink - the service is very good.

Have traveled to all 50 states and 25+ countries… so I’ve had some pretty amazing meals in my day. This evening La Fortuna served me one of the best meals I have ever had. From beginning to end (appetizer to cappuccino) EVERYTHING was beyond excellent!! Will be back very soon …and recommend this restaurant to anyone who has not tried it yet.

We came here tonight to celebrate my cousins 60th birthday all the way from New York- that takes over an hour to drive. We like this place because the food is really good the staff were nice and friendly. Tonight our server named Hugo was not very friendly nor attentive to our table at all. He was getting annoyed every time we called him for something which was not so often, meanwhile he really nice to the other tables, he hardly checked with us to see if everything was okay and should we need anything. We did not enjoy his service, I wanted to give him a penny for his service but apparently

Went there with my zumba crew, as we do a monthly get together with each other outside the gym for fun. LaFortuna was our pick this month. Upon arriving I was highly impressed by the floral decor on the outside patio! Why didn't I take pictures?! It was beautiful! Inside the doctor was pretty nice. Large bar area. They put together a few tables for us in a corner which was perfect for us. They had a specialty menu which you could see by scanning the barcode with your phone. I don't have that app on my phone but the idr ladies did. Some of us ordered specials, some of us from regular menu. I got

Went here last year for drinks and again for dinner in July. The food and service were amazing. The portions are huge, and the taste is amazing. Everyone in our party left full, including my father who eats and ten minutes later is hungry again. Highly highly recommend to anyone looking for an amazing meal

Love this place. Bartenders are great. Especially Shelly ! Linda is also awesome. And this dish names after her "Linda's Kitchen" is awesome. The make the best desert and fried burrata. It was the best ever. I have sent countless people to this place. All were amazed at the service and freshness. Also super clean.

My mom and I decided to eat together on a Sunday afternoon outside. The seating on the side was separated by glass and there were 2 small tables in the front. When we requested to sit at the tables on the side we were told that that was for reservations only. With that said, we were seated at a very tiny table at the entrance outside. A (white) couple came in and sat down that clearly did not have reservations and they were not asked to move. The entire time we dined no-one ever came to claim the so called "reserved" tables.

This was my first visit to LaFortune went there celebrate celebrate a birthday today. I've never quite experienced service like this. Our waiter to Rudy got every single part of our order incorrect. He definitely needs more training. It started out with him bringing out a Diet Coke on a regular Coke was ordered it went downhill from there. He brought me a chicken marsala instead of Seabass for entrées and we waited for over an hour to receive them. I've ordered take out from here a couple times and it's always been great. The entree portions are huge. And the service was attentive even when busy. So far we've had:
- The melanzane pizza was cooked to perfection and delicious. Best pizza for the price anywhere.
- The spaghetti with meatballs with Al dente pasta, although, I didn't really like the taste or texture of the meatballs.
- The lasagna is yummy and super cheesy & saucy
- The tagliatelle bolognese is so good and was al dente
- The slice of tiramisu I got was only a few bites for $7 but tasty...

It wasn't the most positive experience. We went on Saturday afternoon arriving about 4:30. When I walked in it was with a big smile and a hearty hello. I was met with pretty much blank stares. One person actually turned around and walked away without re-turning my greeting. The other two were standing behind the reservation desk and were very concerned that we did not call ahead and make a reservation. Really? 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon??? My husband said we'll just sit at the bar and that seem to bring a lot of relief to this young lady.

All I can say is AMAZING. I have been here many time and have always ordered different items off the menu. I have never been disappointed. Today a seafood dish and when I took my first bite I was blown away . I ordered it over spinach instead of pasta and truly one of the best I have ever had. Went today to La Fortuna for the first time since they have opened. The owner's daughter was our waitress. Outstanding food and service. She said it the best, it is like Little Italy in our backyard. Will definitely be a go to place. Keep it up. Thank you for one of the best meals I have had. Cleaned my plate so good, no need to give to dishwasher.

Pizza was very good. Service was excellent. Beer selection is very limited, but you won't go thirsty. No IPA on the menu (huh?) and Summer Ale in October make me wonder who manages the bar, but the Peroni is excellent. The ambiance is wonderful! They've done an excellent job renovating the place and it finally looks inviting and comfortable. I've been to whatever restaurant has been in this location for the past 30 years and this is the first time it actually feels like a place you would want to take guests to. They have really done a fantastic job on the design of this restaurant

ENTRANCE- came rather early without a reservation. The owner or manager greeted use asked about a reservation but seated us quickly. After all the place was pretty empty.
AMBIANCE- amazing and elegant to say the least. They have a big center bar and must have a vibrant happy hour

Delicious meal, real nice atmosphere and good service. That's the trifecta for a 5 star in my book. I had the grilled salmon and it was delicious. They cook it in the wood fire oven. Everything else looked amazing as well. Great wine list. There's a huge bar if you want to hang out and be casual. Dress code was certainly business casual. On Thursday night there was a good buzz and the clientele was nice.
They've only been open 5 weeks as of this review 12/19/19. If they're having any new business issues I didn't see any. Family run and the owner was very proud to hear
