Black Hawk Martial Arts is a family- friendly school that offers quality instruction to the greater Green Tree area. Our mission is to help you GROW by being a focused, self-disciplined and confident individual, both on our mats and in your life. Students will receive training in the art of Tang Soo Do, a traditional Korean style of karate.

Black Hawk instructors stress the importance of respect, discipline and hard work. There is no easy path to a worthy goal, but while the path is difficult, our staff will not ask you to walk it alone. We cannot walk it for you, but we will walk it with you. Black Hawk Martial Arts Training Center is located in the Green Tree Borough at 600 Iron City Drive in Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
Services
We believe in traditional values: family, hard work, honesty, humility, integrity and respect. We are passionate about the martial arts, helping people and having fun. We want our students to travel through life with confidence, the courage to stand up for what is right and the ability to defend themselves and others who may not be able.
Every week we turn on the news and hear another story of rioting, someone being assaulted, attacked, kidnapped or murdered. If you take a closer look, you'll discover that crime statistics are startling. In 2017, there were over 1.2 million violent crimes nationwide. The FBI reported 810,825 aggravated assaults (that's one aggravated assault every 39 seconds) and an estimated 135,755 rapes.

Perfect place for men, women and kids to continue or start their martial arts training. The instructors are very friendly and patient, accommodating all levels of students. The skills learned are very applicable to real life situations.

Phenomenal instruction and a dedication from the staff at Black Hawk Martial Arts to enable you to be successful. They are very knowledgeable and ensure you fully understand the purpose behind the movements and the history of the craft. I highly recommend them and have personally experienced the instruction and preparation they put into their Dojang

I joined Black Hawk Martial Arts along side my 11 year old son with the intention of getting him more physically active. What surprised me is that I quickly realized that I really enjoy learning and training myself as well. In fact, my 15 year old daughter saw how much we enjoy it and she decided to join with us. I really appreciate that they have established an environment where all 3 of us can learn and train together. The instructors are great!! They are very knowledgeable and are willing to work with anyone at any skill level. They are very dedicated to teaching students all of the skill sets

I started at the end of October here with zero martial arts experience. This has been a great decision for me! I have started to get back into shape ( according to my Apple Watch each class burns 800-1200 cal), got more flexibility, and most of all am learning a new skill. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, passionate about this art and work with you. It is an extremely positive environment. The training is mixed up each time to keep things fresh. If you are on the fence, go ahead and try it. You can’t go wrong!

Black Hawk Martial Arts is a great place to train, work on your fitness, develop excellent relationships and just have fun while sweating it out. The instructors (Master Ron and Ray) have a great understanding of each student's personal needs and abilities and are willing to work within those limitations. They teach traditional martial arts, but show us how to use it, if needed, in a modern day application.
For youths, I have watched them gain confidence in themselves while learning discipline, focus, and respect. For the adults, including myself, we have learned more focus, strength, and confidence
