Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced based model of therapy that has been proven to help reduce symptoms of trauma. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples (and families) is an evidence based model of therapy geared towards helping intimate and family relationships deescalate conflict, change cycles of disconnection, and rebuild intimate relationships.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an evidence based model of therapy that has been effective for treating a variety of presenting concerns ranging from anxiety and depression to posttraumatic stress disorder and more.I'm glad you have made it here. I'm glad you have made it here. Starting the process of turning towards yourself and your relationship, in pursuit of healing and growth, can be challenging and deeply rewarding. We believe that finding the right therapist for you and your family can feel vulnerable and even intimidating at first. We, at Summit Wellness Counseling, are here to support you in beginning that journey.
First and foremost, our services are evidence based, client centered, and culturally sensitive. This means that we strive to integrate best practices within the mental health field with where you are at today, and what you and your family need to get out of therapy. Furthermore, we strive to offer services that respect, validate, and accommodate the unique cultural experience of you and your family.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a model of therapy that helps people resolve symptoms of emotional pain that result from challenging and/or traumatic life experiences. EMDR, an evidence based practice, has shown that psychological impacts of trauma can be healed and processed in less time than other models of psychotherapy.
EFT (emotionally focused therapy) is an evidence based approach to help adult couples deescalate conflicts, heal relationship injuries, rebuild stronger bonds and connections, and learn to have the loving connection they've always longed for. EFT can also be effective when working with families that include multiple family members and teenagers, when cycles of conflict and disconnection are occurring.

It's an integrative approach that brings together the strengths and principles of a variety of models of therapy into one comprehensive way of understanding and working with a variety of mental health symptoms.
