More than a daycare. Every baby and child learns from a structured curriculum that develops life skills and prepares them for kindergarten and beyond. Key coded doors, camera system throughout, emergency disaster plans, and allergy action plans create a safe environment for your child. Performances, events, classroom parties, and an open class policy provide ample opportunity to get involved with your child's learning.
Our mission is for every child to reach his/her full potential by providing a secure, affirming, and educational climate that emphasizes the importance of families and educators as integral components in a child's development. We create environments that encourage enthusiasm and passion in learning while demonstrating dignity in all we achieve.

In the event of inclement weather, emergency closings will be reported on KOMU 8 and KMIZ. Additionally you will find closing information posted on our website and Facebook. If the center needs to close early the same stations will be notified. Every attempt will be made to reach all parents or their emergency contact by phone.
Here at Academy, we recognize that your child's earliest years can be the most pivotal. As such, we have created a thorough infant/toddler curriculum designed to meet the developmental needs of every single child in our care. Our teachers strive to meet target goals in each of our five key focus areas: fine motor, gross motor, social-emotional, cognitive/linguistic, and sensory/art exploration.
Our school-age program goes beyond mere after-school supervision. We designed the program to augment the cognitive, linguistic, fine motor, gross motor, social-emotional, and self-regulatory learning your child is doing at school. Our teachers provide one-on-one tutoring and homework help to our students, followed by a free-choice exploration of our classroom centers.

My first introduction to Academy South was several years ago as I served as a consultant and assessor in early childhood programs throughout Missouri. I found the Academy to be of the highest quality in its service to families in the community. It not only is a childcare provider; but also an educator of children from infants through preschool. After retiring from the consulting program, I was not ready to "sit in my rocking chair". I was excited to learn that the Academy was seeking employees. I worked for them for four years prior to leaving with plans to move from the area. In comparison to

A few years ago they took my deposit of $200 for my child to enroll. She wasn't able to start because we moved to the other side of town due to job transfer, the director Jordan said I could apply it in the future. Fast forward I went back to reenroll and they said not only are they taking my $200 but I have a $500 balance for my child not going. But Jordan knew because the money was still under my daughters account and she had no check ins he just never put that on the account. Present director Regina spoke with the owner and not only are they still stealing my $200 but they want ANOTHER deposit

The Academy is truly an amazing place for children. The Head Teachers are of the highest quality and the retention of the Head Teachers is hands-down above and beyond my expectations in this industry. The children are loved, cared for, and valued. The facilities are beautiful with the East location being located on acres of parkscape. I highly recommend both locations and know you will be pleased with your experience.
