Elite is proud to announce it received the "Best of the South Bay" award for Best Martial Arts. Elite thanks all who made this possible and recognizes this award mirrors the academy's tremendous growth over the past year. Thank you South Bay. Elite is so proud of its Los Angeles roots.
Here at Elite Training Center (Home of Los Angeles South Bay Krav Maga, Combative Mixed Martial Arts, and more) we believe that personal self-defense is not about ending up in a fight. It's about having the training and confidence to avoid potentially dangerous situations while being able to take charge and escape danger if the need ever arises.

Services
Elite Training Center is a martial arts studio focusing on self-defense and fitness classes. We offer two training locations in Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach, in the South Bay of Los Angeles, California. Our students include South Bay residents and others in the L.A. area, male and female, adult and youth, those with no prior self-defense experience and those experienced in martial arts.
Testimonials: We are proud to share with you a few of the perspectives of the students who have helped our school to thrive. Like everyone else at Elite Training Center, they know what it's like to step onto the mat for the first time, and they'll be able to recognize that same strength inside of you when once you join in.
I have spent my life protecting serving and teaching martial arts. I view martial arts as an attitude of respect discipline and mental focus as well as strength and skill. Everyone can learn martial arts. We have built an environment where everyone can come and learn. Specialized in tactical training for law enforcement and military units on matters of tactical shooting and military Combatives (hand-to-hand combat).
My goal as an Instructor is to provide a learning environment which is safe and positive. I believe that training is the best way to relieve stress and get healthy! I also believe that everyone can benefit from martial arts training because it is better to know martial arts and not need it than to need martial arts and not know it.
I have spent most of my adult life seeking out and training with the best of the best in the martial arts world. We have the best team of instructors I have ever worked with. I would trust this unit with my life. Some systems are set in stone and other systems are constantly evolving. At Elite Training Center we evolve with the changing times.

Walking into a self defense training center can be a bit intimidating. Even with previous kickboxing training I was a bit nervous. Ive heard good things about Elite in Redondo Beach so I wanted to experience it . The students seem to share a bond and it wouldn't surprise me if new friendships are made there. Everybody seems to check their ego at the door. My instructor Sean would probably be lethal in a bar fight but was so friendly and unassuming. The instructors have no problem offering one on one tips even in a class environment. I participated in three trial classes and loved it. I plan

Best place to learn technique and "get a workout". (Most places can't do both) Stay long enough and you'll improve physically and emotionally (aka personal growth).
They offer a variety of classes, both morning and evening, which is unusual for a martial arts school. In addition to classes, seminars are given on a regular basis either by individuals whom have achieved a notable amount of success in their discipline or to apply skills learned to real life scenarios. (These workshops/seminars are also something that set them apart from the other martial arts centers.)

I've been with Elite for 3.5 years. With patient teaching the coaches shaped this 54-year old woman from Beginner level to Masters level in kickboxing and Krav Maga. The coaching is excellent and the community is fun. I've made lots of friends there. I also appreciate the mental aspect of the training, and how they push you to your limits and beyond!

I trained at Elite Training Center for about two years, and I can honestly say that it is much more than a basic martial arts training gym (it's a *community*)... I cannot say enough positive things about the training staff; how experienced they are, how readily they are to answer questions and provide assistance whenever necessary, as well as how inclusive they are in creating an atmosphere where everyone is able to feel engaged in the numerous opportunities they have to learn and grow in their martial arts training... I have also been actively involved in providing some amateur photography

I love everything about Elite, I trained for my 1st few months at the Hermosa location and switched over to the Redondo location when we moved from Hermosa to Rancho PV. I am equally satisfied with both locations. Joining Elite was one of the best decisions i've ever made in my life. I wish I would have joined sooner than when I did. I'm a petite woman and I have a 2 year old so I really wanted to learn self defense. The classes here emphasize technique, A LOT, which was what I was looking for. If you're looking for more of a cardio, turbo kickbox workout gym .....this isn't

Contract issues. I signed my son up and at renewal I called to cancel. "Ok, no problem".
It's been a year and at $80 per month they said sorry, and stand behind the rules of the contract. They bank on you losing the contract or misplacing it.
My mistake for being irresponsible on my credit card, but talk about SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES.
If I could I'd leave Zero star, would. I hope they really are enjoying all the money they've stolen from hard working people, and Karma catches up one day.
DONT SIGN THE CONTRACT, go elsewhere!

Everyone has different criteria for what makes a great martial arts school. Here's my take on it so far after 2 months at the Redondo Beach location (they have a 2nd school in Hermosa).
1. Instruction quality: 5 Stars - Arguably the most important factor to many, the quality of instruction is top notch from both Black belt and brown belt instructors. Attention is paid to the small details, and patient corrections given to help you get it right.
2. Teacher attitude. 5 Stars - Humble, no barking orders, no machismo. Patient, respectful and kind, every single one.
3. Class size: 4 Stars

I've been training at Elite since January 2013 and I can honestly say it has changed my life. I joined when I became a late-night Uber driver and had several passengers ask "Do you know any self-defense? What if someone tries to hurt you??" One specific passenger told me about this cool martial art called Krav Maga. He told me how intense it is but how great of a discipline it is.
The next day, I called Elite, met with Sean, and signed up for Krav Maga and Muay Thai Kickboxing. I have never regretted that decision. Between the physical and mental strength I have gained and the friendships

I got a Groupon for Fight2Fitness for 30 fitness classes (amazing deal) and Elite is part of the participating gyms. Signing up for classes is a breeze and all done online. The staff and instructors here are always really friendly and helpful and so are the students. I've tried Krav Maga, Kickboxing, Extreme Kickboxing, and Heavy Bags, and I always get an amazing workout. It's also next to a great smoothie and Acai place so you can feed your body properly after the workouts. =)

I want to start off by saying Andres and Tommy were great instructors who provided good easy to follow step by step instructions. The programs are limited to Krav Maga and Kickboxing where you will find a diverse group of clientele from children, men and women.
Like many others who joined Elite, I signed a 6 month contract. Nearing the end of my contract with 1 1/2 months left, I knew I wanted to terminate it to explore a fitness program elsewhere. Instead of digging through my paperwork and find the contract I signed and reading through the fine print. I took the "easy route" and messaged

As with some of the other reviews, I had a horrible experience with their contract. I got injured during one of the classes (lower back) around the middle of the 2nd month. I let them know at Elite that I'd have to take a few weeks to recover, and after seeing my chiropractor, my chiropractor advised that I temporarily suspend (for a few months, at least) my training to heal. After learning from my Dr. that I would need more time to heal than expected, I contacted Elite and said I'd need to cancel due to injury, which is one option they allow for canceling. However, by the time the injury

Teachers are great! Kinda crowded. Great with kids.
If you change your mind, Beware!
You are contracted to pay for a certain amount of time even if your kid didn't attend a class. I was told that they were out of my 4 yo T-shirt size, so we waited, and waited still nothing, we lost interest and put her into another program.....When I called to discuss this issue, Educational Funding (this is the company that handles the billing) said I still had to pay the full amount for 6 months I think.
So I followed the instructions to terminate the contract and auto billing. I received an email

With both an extraordinary staff and a welcoming environment, this is the place to learn mixed martial arts.
The Elite legion offers unparalleled examples of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and respect in every facet of its community. It's the most empowering place to train and the best decision I ever made!

Finally! Martial arts skills you can use! I tried a beginner Krav Maga class with some apprehension. I wasn't looking forward to an hour to punching the air and letting out some self-conscious shouts. But this wasn't that kind of class. The instructor was great, and his energy and enthusiasm was contagious. We did do some punching, but we were punching pads held by a partner, and I think it was actually harder to hold the pad. Then before I knew it, we were on the floor learning how to fight when we're down. Roundhouse kicks from a full side plank? I don't care how many crossfit

Elite Training Center is an amazing place with amazing students and instructors. I started training here about a year ago and can't say enough about the positive impact it has had on my life. I originally came here to learn Krav Maga for self-defense and have since developed a huge interest in many other forms of martial arts including Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Little did I know when I signed up that martial arts would quickly become such a huge part of my life!
