To provide the best quality healthcare to our patients in a compassionate and committed approach. Our goal is to improve our patients' quality of life using the highest standard of care. Bay West Family Health Care can help you get better and feel better. More than 50 million people in the United States have allergies.

Finding out what you are allergic to is an important first step to effective allergy treatment. Allergy testing, when combined with a detailed medical history, can help identify the specific things that trigger your allergic reactions.
Services
Our top doctors and nurse practitioner are focused on making your care experience as personal, convenient, and comfortable as possible. We take the time to fully listen and understand your needs, and then work with you to develop an appropriate plan of action. We want you to be a full participating partner in your healthcare.
Your doctor has recommended allergy shots (immunotherapy or I.T.) for the treatment of your allergies. Considerable dedication is required of the patient/family who has agreed to immunotherapy. The injections are weekly or bi-weekly until a high dose of allergen is reached. Only after a high or "maintenance dose" is reached will the full benefit of the injections be appreciated.
If any of these symptoms, or other concerns or questions have arisen, now is the time to discuss these concerns, NOT after you have received your injection. We will need to be able to get to your upper arm to give your injection, so you may want to consider wearing short sleeves and/or easy clothing to remove on days you plan on getting an injection.
In order to understand the mechanism of allergy injections we must first review the allergic response. When pollen, dander, or another allergen is introduced into the body of an allergic person, the body may respond by developing allergic antibodies (lgE). As more and more allergens over time are introduced into the body, more allergic antibodies are made.
Allergy shots contain those allergens that were positive on skin testing (a positive test is a 2 or higher in the PR column) after your physician considers your history and environmental exposures. A formula or "recipe" is written by your physician and sent to the antigen department where the extract is made.

Nearly impossible to get appointment for months to see regular provider when I get sick or injured. I depend on Urgent Care and they keep asking "why don't you see your regular provider" because she's never available!! Patient portal not working, I've tried to reset account several times. Office workers pick up phone and are so distracted they don't seem to realize they're on phone! I've called for records to be faxed, but not happening, it's holding up other appointments. Plus records are mixed up with a misspelling of my name, just a lot of clerical errors and overwhelmed over worked cranky people

Due to a malpractice suit against one of the physicians, I am unable to comment in detail. For more information, please go to the San Francisco Superior Court Web site, and search under my name, or Dr. Niemi's name. Also, in my opinion, I would advise avoiding this clinic and "health care" if at all possible.

After 25 years of coming to this practice, the last 2 years I’ve witnessed a drastic decline in services, not sure what’s going on. I worked in manage health care for almost 25 years, and I know the signs of a failing practice when I see it. My family is now receiving care with dignity and respect at UCSF Family Care.

I had an appointment with PA kien chou on june 15, 2018 at 4pm for my jammed right index finger. she sent me to the x-ray and did it right after my check-up the same day. 3 weeks passed and i was still waiting for them to call bec. I was worried about the swelling on my finger and i wasn't able to bend it. I decided to call them after 3 weeks and talked to the customer rep. And she told me they just received the result and it had to be reviewed first. until now i haven't received any call from them, almost 2 months now! That is why i'm changing my PCP and the place! Doing my research if how can

Dr. Gee was horrible. First of all my appointment was at 11:20, didn't even get into the room until 11:55. At 12:20 Dr Gee comes in and says that he "heard I was impatient" simply because I had inquired how long it would be as I wasn't feeling well and had already waited an hour. He then told me that I could have gone to the emergency room, but why would I go to the emergency room when they made me a same day appointment at 11:20. Why would you make an appointment for a certain time if they couldn't see me until an hour later? He was extremely condescending, barely examined me and was willing to

Hit or miss. Waiting over an hour to be seen for an appointment is unacceptable. When finally seen was able to get what I needed taken care of.

First, be prepared to book months in advance. Then they reschedule me not once but twice. So my original appointment that was in October is now at the end of January. You can do better.
