Squire has helped hundreds of property owners as the District's most responsive property management company since 2016. We charge a single, all-encompassing 7% management fee, with no other fees ever charged for our property management. For leasing, we charge one month's rent and guarantee the lease term.
We don't charge for lease renewals, or miscellaneous inspection fees, or extra report fees, or Uncle Jim's extra time fees. We find great tenants quickly with professional photography, syndication to dozens of rental platforms, and showings driven by superb listings. Our team supervises maintenance requests, conducts property inspections, and shares any issues with property owners immediately.

Services
We never directly charge property owners and do not require any contract term commitments. Our team exclusively manages residential real estate in Washington, DC. We are experts in our focused field and have developed a transparent, fully owner-aligned management structure. Squire lists your rental property on dozens of sites to ensure maximum exposure.
Calculating the correct market rental rate is one of Squire's - or any property management company's - most important roles. There is no single formula that can provide a property owner a perfect number, but we believe that relying on extensive data helps landlords make informed decisions that maximize rental revenue.

Squire and Liz specifically have invaluable to me. They are responsive, knowledgeable, and found great tenants. Moreover, my tenants have only said positive things about working with them which is exactly what I was hoping for. I hadn't planned to rent out my condo, but with frequent deployments, I'm relieved it's in safe hands.

Located a listing on FB marketplace, and from the get go Elizabeth was very responsive. I was able to self-tour the apt by the same afternoon. With the current pandemic, that was good for us, also it gave us time to really look around, visualize and discuss the unit. I had a great experience touring with them. Unfortunately, we needed a bit more space but the unit we toured ( A Street) was amazing!!! The pictures seemed too good to be true but they were AS DESCRIBED! Also, walking up to the building and in the foyer, you could tell that care is given to the property.

My rental property in Kalorama has been managed by Squire for just under 6 months now. I’m typically not the type to leave Google reviews unless I have an excellent (or terrible) experience. However, my relationship with Squire since February has been exemplar. Not only have they responded to my tenants on a timely basis, but they’ve fixed any issue (i.e. a recent unexpected gas leak) in a professional manner and with great care. Squire has also gone above and beyond with respect to logistical measure such as my business license renewal/the inspection that came with it. Having one point of

After a long search for the right apartment for my daughters & I, and after yet another apartment fell through, I sent a email to Squire with my frustrations.
Elizabeth wrote me back and promised to find the right apartment that fit my budget and in the right neighborhood.
She did. I've been living in a great apartment in capital hill for over a year now.
The squire portal is easy to use for payment and maintenance, and any specific requests are a email or text away. Liz is always quick to respond.
I've never met her but I owe her a beer.

These guys are an embarrassment. Our tenants said they never answered their phones or responded to maintenance requests and they took days to respond to us whenever we reached out. They took months to find us tenants also and couldn’t be bothered to actually show up to showings, instead telling prospective tenants they should just go and look at the place themselves. They also let our rental license and country lead certification registration laps, even though they promised to deal with those renewals, so I had to talk my way out of fines from the county. Having these guys as your property managers

My experience with Squire started off well, to the point I was used as a reference, but as the years went by got increasingly worse. The latest manager on the account, Liz, was unprofessional, unresponsive, and said she was in communication with the tenant and myself when she wasn’t. When moving in a new tenant Squire did not have the paperwork needed for the condo, the tenant was surprised with a unit that was not cleaned, and she had several repair issues that were not addressed despite her multiple attempts to reach out. When terminating the contract due to performance I found Squire had not

Squire has managed my rental property for just over a year and I've had a generally positive experience with the company. I switched management companies with tenants already in place and Squire made the transfer process simple for both my tenants and myself. Repairs are taken care of quickly with my agent, Liz, constantly keeping me updated. I sometimes have to call more than once, but Liz always gets back to me.
Squire has a user-friendly portal to access any and all financial/leasing/tax documents which is helpful and has saved me an extra call/email. They are a smaller company which

We've had our condo in Logan circle under Squire DC's management since the end of 2018. We are now in our second lease with another set of great tenants placed by Elizabeth, our assigned property manager. She's quick to respond, minor and major repairs are handled right away, and with everything that changed for rentals in DC during the pandemic we have had no stress knowing Squire is handling everything. Our tenants seem to be happy as well. As landlords, we have high praises for the team at Squire and appreciate their emphasis on communication!

I see why people choose to manage their own properties. This is the worst Property Management company I've ever dealt with. Talk about rude!! Homeowners find another company and renters run the other way. Trust me!! Shady company, non responsive, and all around terrible customer service. I'm still waiting for my security deposit and I moved out in February! I was basically ran out of the property by rats that chewed their way through floor boards!! Yes that is what myself and two children endured for 9 months. The owner or head manager is a real peach!! So when you see Squire on the

Not responsive. Business might be closed?
I received an automated email to get my end of year document for tax purposes. The link didn't work. So I emailed. No one responded. I emailed again, and again and again. Eventually I called. Guess who responded? No one. Still don't have documents I need for tax filing

I am an owner of a single family home in s.e. Washington DC. Squire managed my property for me about 18 months. In this time they have proven themselves to be completely incompetent and irresponsible. My tenant is part of the DCHA voucher program. This program requires annual maintenance inspections. Squire was completely unaware that these inspections were taking place and failing. This eventually led to my property falling into abatement status. However, Squire was not even aware of this fact because of their extremely poor record keeping and worse accounting. They continued to pay me for about

I do not recommend Squire to anyone. We hired them to find and manage renters for our property, months later we have no renters and we never hear a peep from them. We're hemorrhaging money for months paying mortgages on 2 properties, but it's not their money so they obviously don't care. When we first met with them, they made it seem like they would have renters no problem (property is located in prime downtown location). We've lowered the price but no luck. The disconnect is obviously on their end because we were present for a showing one day and the agent had no idea what

We became first-time landlords after leaving our one-bedroom condo in DC for the MD burbs. We wrestled for a while over the decision to self-manage vs. hire a property manager. Just over a month after our move, I can already say that we made the right choice with Squire. Alex was great about listing the unit and coordinating showings around our schedule (really, our baby's). We ended up finding a tenant through a neighbor, but Squire has made the transition totally painless. They set up our move-in/out cleaning and really stepped up when they noticed that the AC wasn't working. It was
