We are a Waldorf-inspired, in-home preschool program which strives to provide a nurturing and harmonious environment to meet the natural developmental needs of your young child. We are located at the private residence of owner/operator Linda Lawrence in the Curtis Park neighborhood of Sacramento, California. Class is in session Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Days of attendance are flexible. We are licensed for 12 children and accept ages 3 through 5 years old.
Services
This play is how children come to understand the world and is vital for a child's emotional, intellectual, and imaginative development. At Merry Garden we have created a warm and nurturing environment designed to develop body and mind. Our aim is to inspire in your child a lasting appreciation for the natural world through engagement with nature, the seasons, and the elements; an environment beautiful and ordered.
The children arrive and are greeted by the teachers and get reacquainted with the play garden, friends and animals. We come indoors for 'circle.' This activity includes seasonal songs, rhythmical rhymes and movement. We then have our indoor play time, special activities are made part of the free play period.
The Summer Arts and Crafts Camps are individual two week long sessions. Each week will focus on a particular creative project and its process. These camps are open to children a little older than preschool age. The projects are created to meet different age levels. Each child is guided to bring to completion their own creation.

I've had children at the Merry Garden for 4 years and I can't say enough good things about my experience there. It is a truly magical place! It is so comforting to bring my children to a calm, caring, loving environment. You must see the Merry Garden to believe what a special place it is - from the bunnies, quail and tortoise to the sweet garden room filled with treasures Miss Linda has collected for over 20 years that she has run the Merry Garden. Real china tea sets, beautiful silk scarves and capes and crowns for dress up play. It is a hidden gem!

Merry Garden is such a bright spot in our Sacramento life! Being greeted each morning by the animals, happy children and parents as well as Miss Linda and Miss Lila was so perfect. Our daughter woke every morning excited to explore and play in the garden. Why would you send your children to an indoor school when Sac has such lovely weather most of the time? Both teachers are so experienced and in tune with the children I never once worried about our daughter. I knew she would be busy learning in such a safe and caring environment.
