Dr. McCorkle has taken care of our pets since 2003. He is knowledgeable and compassionate and very gentle. I remember one experience very well when one of our cats developed FUS and we had to take him to the emergency clinic as Dr. McCorkle was unavailable. I'd just like to express my deep appreciation for the wonderful care my dog, Corniglia, has always received from the entire staff of Mountain Valley Vet Hospital.
Corniglia is precious to me, but she can be difficult with other people. A "mommy" can tell by her pet's behavior during and after an interaction with someone whether or not that pet has been well cared for. Such is the case with Corniglia--it's obvious that everyone at the hospital is kind, caring, and thorough in their treatment of her.

Services
This service starts with an annual visit for physical examination, vaccinations and parasite testing. This is the single most important program we provide all of our clients' pets to get early detection and best possible outcomes for hidden medical issues. These annual visits also help pet owners understand the importance of balanced nutrition and the avoidance of obesity in their pets.

Dr. McCorkle did more for my cat in one visit than 6 months at another vet down the road. I am very impressed with his care for each and every animal, ensuring that the best treatment plan is in place. He is also very thorough in explaining his short and long term treatment plan. I couldn’t be happier with him and his staff. We will only be going to Mountain Valley Vet from now on!

Dr. McCorkle and his staff have taken care of our pets for years. Everyone is professional and caring. I trust Dr. McCorkle to help me make decisions that are best for my pets. Everyone, there knows our pets are part of our family. They have seen us through new puppies all the way to the end of life. I chose this vet based on the reviews and am still presently surprised at how kind and personal every phone call and interaction has actually been, despite the reviews telling me exactly so. They are happy and informative. They do not rush with visits or phone calls. The office is cozy and warm and does not give a “hospital” vibe. But most importantly they are amazing with my Great Pyrenees.
