If you're looking for authentic Mexican food then look elsewhere. If your looking for good Mexican American food then look elsewhere. Ordered a chicken enchilada because the menu described it as grilled chicken wrapped in flour tortillas and topped with salsa verde. In reality the chicken was cubed and rubbery, no flavor, no salsa and was topped with a heaping pile of cheese. I dont know if they thought adding a load of cheese would hide the fact that the food had no flavor. I was surprised how quick the food came out. I knew then this probably wasn't fresh. I really wanted to like this place. I went 2 times. First time I had the shrimp tacos and they were decent. But decent doesn’t equal the price I paid. Second time I got the tequila burrito and it had ZERO flavor. It was essentially boiled chicken with cheese wrapped in a burrito. Plenty of choices here in OC I would not waste $ at this place

When I found this place I really wanted to like it. Our server was nice and the food came out quick. However, the margaritas tasted like juice more then a margarita. The fajitas looked hopeful but after reading the menu, I was baffled to learn it didn’t come with rice or beans, or even guacamole or sour cream. I’ve never gone to a Tex/mex restaurant and their fajitas don’t bring that. You can, however, add it on for $6/$8. Isn’t that like standard? Anyways, after being disappointed about that, I decided to just get the beef tacos.. it was no better. For starters, you either have an option

Terrible, don't waste your money! Second time there and it was still TERRIBLE! They give you big portions and the food looks delicious, but after your first bite the love affair is OVER! I got the chicken burrito and the chicken was cubed instead of shredded, plus it had NO FLAVOR! And how can you screw up nachos, well theny did! Again cubed, NO FLAVOR chicken and they were not hot! I will never eat there again. Not even if I am STARVING!! Total YUCK and waste of my hard earned money!

Super unique name, super cool menu item names, meh food. Understandably being a Mexican place in a shore town doesn't really have to reach that high of a standard but the food was just okay. Chips and salsa were good (first basket is freeeeee) but I'd be more interested to sit at the bar and watch a game.

Complimentary chips were a bit stale, but it was close to closing time. Pico de gallo for dipping rather than traditional salsa, which was cool. We ordered chicken enchiladas and the short rib tacos (hard shell). The enchiladas were not great. The chicken was cubed and not shredded, which is how we are used to it. We came in For a late lunch after my brother and a friend of his finished playing golf. I have never eaten at tequila mockingbird even though I was in OC local for 10 years. Everyone at the table ordered Margaritas. They were doing really well about the COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines so that is always a plus. Do you get chips and salsa at the table and their salsa which is more like a Pico Di Gallo is absolutely, hands-down, freaking amazing!
The prices of their food is actually a little expensive considering the portion of the plate that you receive and the menu items. I think my tacos

They practice great and safe social distancing measures and accommodated me quite well with my service dog. They did ask for an ID which is a common misconception but in the US service dog registries and ID cards are actually a scam and according to the ADA businesses mustn't require them, but the whole staff was very very friendly and bright and the hospitality was wonderful.
The food was fantastic and the service was stellar and amicable. The margaritas are positively superb. Perfect place for some tacos, burritos, etc and a couple good drinks!

After living in Arizona for years, I've become kind of a snob about Mexican food. This place is LEGIT. The beef and pork tacos are delicious and I loved the chicken enchiladas. I judge a Mexican place by the refried beans and these did not disappoint. The queso is probably really good on its own but a little much when you add it on top of a dish. My fiancé raves about their fajitas and the Big Juan burrito. Also, excellent guacamole.

Still craving tacos, a day later, per recommendation from my hotel, I tried this place. By far, better food and service than Quidos Burritos. I tried beef tacos. Reminded me a tad bit of Taco Bell, but better. The best part of my meal was my drink. I ordered the Mayan King Margarita. Let me tell you, you must be royalty to take on this drink. You taste it and feel it at the same time. There is no part of this drink that is disappointing. I will be back...for the drink. Bon Apetit.
