My son had just started with the studio 6 months before Covid. We were grateful that Empower pivoted so quickly to offering online classes. We stuck with these classes during COVID until outdoor classes in the park started and are now back indoors. My son has utterly loved it and has really progressed in his skill set and confidence. All instructors are wonderful, and it's just such a positive environment. Couldn't more highly recommend!

Clean facility, nice open space and super knowledgeable instructors. They are very patient and work really well with the kids. Pricing is reasonable and I also love the family owned aspect. There seems to be a great culture here that fosters positivity and real care/growth for all their students.

I had my daughter enrolled there and the experience she is having is amazing compared to all other places she used to go before. This is more than a simple dojo. The staff are friendly and the activities span beyond martial art and have an excellent healthy environment of discipline, caring and sportsmanship. We love their parents night out and they were more gracious to accept my youngest who is not enrolled there. Kids also have a great healthy environment to mingle and play. Highly recommended.

We love Shir Martial Arts! My son has been a student here for over a year and loves it. It has helped with discipline, focus and confidence. Also a great shout out to the entire staff for always helping me out when my younger one gets restless while the older one is in class. They all seem to step up with assisting my son with parent participation or watching my younger one so I can participate. Great quality and service!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Shir Martial Arts. My VERY active son started there a year ago, when he was four and loved it from the minute he began. Over the past year we have seen such an improvement in his behavior, much thanks to the weekly life skills he has learned at Shir. The instructors were all patient and friendly. We are moving out of state and are definitely sad to leave this place!

My son did a trial here about six months ago. The studio is well kept and a good size. Everyone was very nice and answered all my questions. Whether this place works for you depends on what you are looking for. From what I got out of our trial, your child can earn a stripe for their belt every week here - somewhat on the level of a participation trophy level - if you go, you get one. And you move up belts after X number of strips are earned. If that motivates your children, then go for it. I was looking for for a place with more hands-on application of martial arts, such as actual wrestling

This place was a waste of time. The instructor wasted time in announcements on upcoming events.
Did not focus on discipline at all during instruction. I did like that they had a theme every class and spoke about safety etc...but not good for martial arts !!!

My kid loves going here. Maybe they don't really focus the form, but I'm not after that (yet). My child is too young for that. What they are good at is they do instill good values, discipline and give kids confidence. I see the blackbelt kids who teach the class have such good leadership skills. That is what I want for my child. Even the 5th grader who assists/shadows the teacher in class does a good job. Even if it's just their warm up.

I can't say enough good things about the staff and ownership at Shir Martial Arts.....their facility is nice and well maintained, and most of all - it's not only a great place for kids to learn martial arts, but also the character building that comes with the process. Master Shir is one of the best! I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone looking to begin training or transitioning from another school. Five stars.

This place is great place for kids to learn martial arts and have fun at the same time. We have tried out a couple different place but this place has the formula down. With everything to digital checking in your kids, modern day energizing music to the personal attention each child receives. This really is a great balance if teaching martial arts and having fun.

Definitely will recommend!

My daughter loves her karate classes and so do I. Her instructors are teaching her more than karate - she is learning how to respect herself and others, gaining self confidence, team work and the instructors reinforce home rules and encourage positive strive in school. Best thing is the schedule has varying hours to work with my families busy life - I can take my daughter to any two classes throughout the week- you are not set to every Tuesday or Monday what works is when we go! I could go on but best part is you can try the classes out for free to see if your child enjoys it as much as mine
