I just got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and a glass of wine. I was a little disappointed with the pizza, but I'm very picky about pizza. I felt it was too thick and the crust was not very inspired. Basically, it was an average pizza by San Diego standards, but it was okay. However, I probably wouldn't go back for pizza, but I might return for some other menu items, many of which looked quite appealing.

$28 for an outstandingly bland pizza? C'mon.. I've tried going a few different times over the years since I moved right down the street. Pizza toppings consistently slide off before you can even get the first bite in, regardless of if it's fresh and hot or has had time to cool down. $28 for a "Mediterranean" pizza is absolutely crazy, there's absolutely nothing expensive or remotely unique about this pizza to warrant the cost, except to maybe cover operating costs for having a dozen employees there on an otherwise empty night. Costs are out of touch with quality. I've tried this place several times

I'm not sure what it is for me but Bongiovannis is just special to me. I've always liked the layout of the building and the arcade games. The menu is sizable and the prices are really great. I'm a huge fan of the Turkey sandwiches and minestrone soup. It's very filling. Also the pizza is awesome! It's just a really great place.
