Tavern West is my favorite restaurant in Summit County. We stopped by several times during our trip because it was so great. We all loved the truffle tots, Kobe burger, and the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. I also really enjoyed the salmon. I don’t think you can go wrong on their menu because everything is excellent.

It's my birthday and we arrived on time. despite 100 open tables(don't mind waiting we get the labor shortage better than most). The hostess asked us to wait in the space between the outside and the restaurant. It was freezing in there and I have my 10 year old with me. After the hostess was insanely rude (I own my own business and if anyone ever spoke to a customer as she did I'd fire them on the spot) one of their drunken patrons started in lol. Instead of wasting time in a filthy poorly run place we chose to just leave. I hope that no one ever goes there again. This was

We usually eat downtown Frisco or Breck when in the area. We were very pleased when we stopped here and will come back. The service was outstanding and even better was the food. Meet the owner who was going… between the bar and kitchen helping out, nice person. We had the Mac n Cheese appitizer with jalapeno and bacon it was to die for. Our entire meal was outstanding.

Driving past you may unfortunately write it off. However step inside and you will be happy you didn’t. Waitress was great and the good matched. We all enjoyed our meals and apps which included a Rocky Mountain… Bolognese which included elk and bison, Kobe beef burger and even lamb meatballs. Next time if same menu I am trying the duck.

A Crown Jewel of Summit Co Dining: Bob and his staff will not let you down. One of the few places daring enough to change their menu seasonally. On my last visit we where greeted by Becca who was undeterred by Covid protocol. She refused to make us feel anything less than welcomed guests. From there Amy took stellar care of us- my husband and I where delighted by the roast carrot appetizer, and her claims that the Rubin sandwich was the best we can find in the high country was not without merit. It is truly one of the best I representations I have personally come across. The rye was perfectly crisp

We had the marinated olives for an appetizer, very good, didn't like the pits but I'm a baby. Wife had the roasted leg of lamb to which she described as "Amazing". I had the Kobe Steak, OMG, melt in your mouth and the smoky mashed potatoes were unbelievable! For desert we had the flourless cake. Ok, at 1st bite wasn't sure, totally different texture. 2nd bite got more of the caramel sea salt sauce in the bite. It may have changed my life. Unbelievable. Had to arm wrestle the wife for the last bite. I won. Service was top notch, very professional and attentive.

Tried TW with friends, one a local on Saturday. The place is attractive and was pretty busy. My hopes were high.
I had the burger and although not in the top ten burgers I was happy with it. The tater tot appetizer was great ... think Sonic frozen tots with garlic, truffle oil and parm.
Others tried the pork chops and steaks. Nobody raves about the food.
The big turnoff was the Octopus appetizer. Horrible. They should just remove it from the menu.
Service was so-so.

Liked: very friendly and personable owner Bobby who visits your table and is very approachable. Nice variety of cocktails. Grilled octopus had delicious flavors but most of the plate was empty and the serving size is pretty small. Grilled carrots was a larger serving size and was tasty.
Just ok: Bolognese Pasta was apparently made in house but seemed kind of thick and missed the mark. On the other hand, the various meats and the sauce were tasty and good.
Could be better: the wine list is fairly extensive but wines by the glass are fairly limited. Still I did enjoy a glass of their French rose

Awesome food in a breathtaking setting. The environment of the tavern is tastefully decorated to match its surroundings, and the scent emanating from the grills is intoxicating. I bought a very affordable (all things considered) bbq pork sandwich and was barely able to finish everything that came with it (I'm a 6'1" male with a healthy appetite). The included photos are my plate, as well as the view from my table on the patio. Will return as soon as possible.
