Wasabi has been a staple for my husband and I these past few years while living in Breck however I was pretty disappointed by the service I received this evening. Hiro and Mari are incredible and are always wonderful hosts. We made reservations for 7:30 for 4 but were running a few minutes behind so we tried to call ahead but their phone was disconnected. When we arrived 4 minutes past our reservation, the server let us know she had given our table away but was able to seat us 20 minutes later. The food and service was excellent as always until things got awkward at the end of our meal. Our check

Visited this place with very high expectations. As read majority of the reviews were great. We called ahead to make a reservation and the lady over phone said no reservations required, please just show up. Once we shows up they said reservations were required . They took over 20 minutes to have us sat down then over 1 hour for getting Two sushi rolls.
We probably never come back !

As much as I hate to make a negative review, i must. Wasabi has been a must on all the trips to Breck (many years!) but the last 2 times, we were incredibly disappointed. It took 45 minutes to get 2 rolls of our order & the rest was brought later. "Oh! My bad", from the waitress, who repeatedly sat at a table of a huge party next to us. The rolls were tiny & had no flavor. Each roll was not distinguishable from the next. We left hungry. Sorry, Wasabi. We gave it one more try. This is now off our list & out of rotation.

Let me start by saying the sushi is so fresh and flavorful! All sauces are home made and delicious. Location is in this semi-indoor "mall" area that you can't see from the Main Street so you have to know to go in it to find it. This place is tiny and so authentic, my husband feels it reminds him of the real Japanese places overseas. There's probably only 8-10 tables total and it's an extremely casual place where many of the people just talk to each other from table to table. Service is definitely not like Texas customer service (I type this while laughing) and extremely

Great food. Be aware of the 18% mandatory tip for takeout. Their business practices are scummy, I have no issue paying for good food and I rather pay 18% on top of the price of the food, but since they don’t disclose it until you come to pick up your food it, it just feels grubby and offensive since I would like to know how much I am going to pay before I go.

Our family went there to pick up our dinner take-out order. We were trying to avoid crowds because of COVID. I'm Japanese and walking in there was like walking into a true little Japanese shop. The owners are Japanese and they were running the show...making the food, greeting guests, etc. Japanese owners running a Japanese restaurant seems rare these days. They very carefully had our food packed up and it was delicious. I'll always visit this restaurant when in Breck.

This mom n pop sushi shop delivers. The chef came out to say the poké is Japanese style, which we thoroughly enjoyed (try the volcano on wasabi). Chicken teriyaki was one of the few entrées but pretty good. The rolls were fresh and delicious. We were told fresh fish is picked up every Monday from a Japanese fish market in Denver. Gratuity (18-20%) is included so need to add another tip. We’ll be back. 😋

AMAZING Japanese food. Beats many fancy Japanese restaurants in Chicago and New York. Affordable and authentic food prepared by a kind elderly Japanese couple. The miso soup is hearty and flavorful—you can really tell it’s based on home-steeped bonito broth and kombu broth. We ordered the botan ebi (sweet shrimp nigiri), and the owner very kindly deep-fried the shrimp heads, tempura-style, for us. This extra touch really shows how thoughtful they are; usually when I order botan ebi at other places, they just bring the shrimp and leave the head on as it is.

Went yesterday with friends, and it was total disaster. Many reviews were OK, so maybe it was a bad day or bad choice of food, but it was very bad. Green tea was not good, just mixed powder with bad taste. Agedashi tofu was OK, but tofu was too firm. Sushi rolls were OKish, but they were not fresh (we were there right after opening at about 5:30pm). But the worst thing was udon, it was not edible. Practically, soy with water (super salty, not a good broth, you don't taste bonito or seaweed) and overcooked noodles, vegetable tempura was undercooked. None of us could eat it. One positive thing

We went with our family of 6. I would recommend making a reservation. Otherwise, they will stick you in a corner with terrible service. Since we were a family of 6, they charged us a 18% gratuity and gave us no service in return. Waitress didn't come by to refill our drinks once. Only time we saw her was when she came to pick up order, deliver our food (4 rolls then 3 rolls) 10 minutes apart from each other and to hand us bill. We have been here twice now. The first time was better experience, when there was 2 of us and not an automatic 18% gratuity. So if you do dine here, make a reservation

The food was wonderful. My favorite, sashimi octopus was so fresh. The No 9 sushi roll was a happy medium for my boyfriend and me. He was craving tempura and I was craving sushi. The flavors melted in my mouth! Yum. The waitress was great and the owner was very nice. He's been around making sushi for 30 years here in Breckinridge. We had a late dinner so we were happy they stay open an hour later than the rest. The owners are Japanese and you can tell the food is authentic. My green tea hit the spot too! Next time, I'd like to go during the day to enjoy the outdoor seating area. Only

This place was somewhere between 2 and 3 stars on taste, both the sushi roll and the teriyaki chicken. The service, atmosphere, and music pushed it to a 3. I would not recommend this place or go again. The meat in the sushi was not only not fresh tasting, it was just so bland. The teriyaki sauce left a lot to be desired.

We were looking for a nice dinner while in town for a conference. I looked into local restaurants and saw this one; it was on my mind all day. The experience was excellent. The food was good and fresh, and the owners were very friendly and welcoming. We took our newborn baby along in her stroller and the place accommodated our needs with the baby too. It was a great experience for our family and we will be back next time we are in town. It was one of those experiences where you feel like you are being welcomed into someone's home with heart-warming hospitality.

This adorable hole-in-the-wall place is definitely worth a visit! My SIL, nephew, and I were walking along the river in downtown Breck, and we saw Wasabi and wanted to try it. Everything we had was delicious! The owners, who are also the servers and cooks, were super sweet, and their food was so yummy! We had the edamame, veggie tempura, and the chicken teriyaki--they make their own soy sauce AND teriyaki sauce in house! We will definitely be going back!

Dang, was really pulling for this place to be good. But sadly, its not. We did takeout on Saturday night. The restaurant was empty at 7pm. Maybe folks eat late in Breck...I don'k know. The server was super friendly and the mom and pop owners (I'm guessing) were also super friendly. Again, I was really pulling for them...
The fish...ugh. Not good. They put mayo in a lot of rolls. Not what I'm used to or familiar with. The fish itself was....just weird. Not bad but not good. It almost seemed like it was not real fish but it didn't taste bad. I'm guessing that it
