Dr. Gardsbane has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1987. Her hometown is Shreveport, Louisiana and she obtained her veterinary degree from Louisiana State University. Upon graduation, she moved to Maryland and worked in a small animal practice in Catonsville.
After several years, she moved to Florida, gained management skills, returned to Maryland, and then worked in a practice near Andrews Airforce Base as well as in an emergency hospital, where she further developed her abilities through work experience.Finally, in 1997 Dr. Gardsbane established her own practice in the Aspen Hill area.

We strive to provide the best personalized medical care for you and your pet's. Therefore, we try to obtain as much information as possible from your pet's previous & current medical history. If you have any records we do not already have, please bring that in to your pet's appointment or we will be happy to call any veterinary practice and have them send to us.
We understand that it can be stressful to bring your cat in for vet visits - on both of you! Hopefully these tips can help make it a more pleasant experience. 1. Bring out the carrier a few days ahead so that your cat can become accustomed to it. Leave the door of the crate open so they can come & go as they please.
As important members of your family, it is essential that your pet receives the necessary nutrients to maintain a proper weight and overall good state of well-being. Therefore, the veterinarians here at the Animal Place use their knowledgeable resources to provide you with expert advice on nutrition and health.
Puppies and kittens are super cute, but it is important to make sure you follow the necessary steps to ensure they grow up to be happy and healthy members of your family. Below is a general guideline, but depending on the pet - the doctor may personalize it to fit your furry babies specific needs. Your pet then returns in 3-4 weeks for a booster DHPP vaccine (and again in another 3-4 weeks after the second visit for the final booster).

Visited for a Vetsulin prescription, Dr. did not ask any questions or care to ask for more info.
I found it very odd she just wrote a prescription and said “ just go pick it up somewhere”
I asked where again? She stated “ohh we don’t carry VETSULIN here, you have to go pick it up at a any regular pharmacy like cvs.”
I asked “ are you sure they carry that there?” And the DR reassured me that this is what everyone does to get their pets Insulin.
I immediately thought something was off however she is a professional. (DR. DEANNA )
later I visited the cvs pharmacy. I was very disappointed

We have been going to the Animal Place Veterinary Hospital for about three years. We have a very challenging dog, both behaviorally and medically. From the start, Dr. Davis and Dr. Gardsbane have been very accommodating and friendly. We feel like we always get very thorough explanations. They have never rushed us through an appointment. I feel like both doctors are very interested in my dog's well-being, and I have never felt like they are taking advantage of us, financially. It is such a relief to find veterinarians that we can trust in every way.

Moved to the area recently and have taken my kitty cat there after she had an accident with her tail. Vet and techs have been really great. I really like that they care about the treatment of your animals and don't want to manhandle them just to get the job done. They take their time to make the animal feel comfortable and I appreciate that. This will be my new primary vet.

Listen: 5 stars do not do them justice. They deserve the milky way. My dog is 15 years old; but, with their care, he might just make it another 15 years. The entire staff is super and, believe it or not, my Luke looks forward to his vet visits. They are not stuck on traditional treatments - they practice leading edge veterinary medicine to include: cold laser treatments; acupuncture; oriental herbs and the latest in breaking veterinarian medicine developments. To put the icing on the cake, they are quite reasonable.

Moved here 5 months ago and I am usually scared of up selling by Vets but this place was great. They did not try to up sell any products or anything. I went with 2 cats in the same cat carrier and they gave me a free carrier before I left! Staffs are nice and friendly. They followed up next day to know how my cats doing. I would recommend people going there

I would highly recommend The Animal Place! I've been a loyal client for years, and completely trust the doctors to provide competent, comprehensive care to my pets. My dogs also love the attention they get from the staff. They always greet my pets by name and take the time to give them individualized cuddling and praise. The doctors and staff take their time and are great listeners. I've never felt rushed and always leave feeling that my pets received the best treatment possible.

I've been going to Animal Place for about two years now. I can certainly say that I've been more than happy with the service and care that I and my animals (two dogs and two cats) have received there. Everyone is very professional, friendly and helpful. No matter which doctor I see, I feel comfortable with the care that my animals are getting. I also buy prescription pet food there, and have been satisfied with that service as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone wanting the best care for their pets.
