When it comes to dimensional color, we do it all. We highlight your hair to enhance your natural color. Or we highlight your hair and change the base color to enhance those highlights. If you desire a more natural look, and only want to reduce the amount of gray or white strands in your hair, we will lowlight your hair to perfection.
We use ISO permanent solution to curl. ISO perms curl your hair with minimum damage to the cuticle, and we have been doing perms for over 20 years, so we know our stuff. But if your interested in eliminating some of those curls and frizz, we can accommodate you with our Cezanne Smoothing Treatment - Formaldehyde free.
We carry an exclusive line of conditioning treatments from Redken, Eufora, Olaplex, and Brazilian Bond Builder. We can nourish your hair back to health - usually in one or two treatments. But, even better, we can prevent damage while performing chemical services, by conditioning as we perform those services.

The WHOLE STAFF is absolutely Amazing. Bern is Awesome, friendly , kind!! Peach washes hair and its the best feeling in the world!!! They are amazing when it comes to accommodating my schedule. I love love love my new hair and the people at Nova are wonderful! Bernadette cut and colored my hair and Peach (?spelling) assisted with the washing and other details. The attention to detail and the skill with which Bernadette highlighted my hair was incredible. I've never walked out from a salon feeling so confident! She knew exactly what I wanted and gave me suggestions based on my face shape and skin tone. I will definitely be back!

I love Rose!! She's been cutting my hair since I moved to Philly three years ago and I'll never go to anyone else. She always takes her time on my hair and seems genuinely excited to try new things. Between various hair styles and colors over the years, I can confidently say she's an expert. Everyone else in the salon also seems to do fabulous work from what I see each time in there. They also offer awesome cookies, cake, etc. and coffee all day long. I also rarely have difficulty getting an appointment within a week of calling, even during the busy seasons. Seriously, go here. SO worth the money

Bernadette is awesome! She literally can envision exactly what I am looking for every time I want to try something new! After a long search for a salon, I'm very happy with Nova! Unlike many center city salons, Nova is welcoming, caring, accepting, and client focused. Everyone is warm and friendly. I used to go to a stylist at this salon who fixed a bad highlight job, he fixed my brassy chunky highlights from another salon where I paid almost three times as much and made them look much better, turned them into pretty caramel highlights that looked natural. If I were to do them again, I'd ask for them less bright and less warm but these were pretty and had a natural grow out, which is exactly what I asked for. The stylist was very gentle in placing the foils too which I appreciate since I'm tender-headed. The cute bob cuts that this stylist gave me were pretty and flattering but

Amazing. I'm new to the area and chose a salon based on reviews, and this place really is as good as it sounds. I called to set up a coloring appointment and they asked me to come in beforehand so that we could figure out a plan that worked best for my hair. I brought in pictures of the results I wanted and not only did Bernadette do exactly what I asked for, but the final result looked even better than the pictures I showed her. The cost was pretty steep (about twice as expensive as any color I've had done before), but I've never liked my hair as much as I do now, and I am PICKY

I would never go anywhere else but Nova! I always have people stop me on the street to ask where I get my hair cut. Marianne consistently gives me an elegant cut that really accentuates my best features. I just blow dry it in the morning and go, very low maintenance. And to top it off, my hair continues to looks great for 5-6 weeks. Nova really is as good as it gets.

I love Nova. Marianne does my hair, both highlights and cut, and she always does a fantastic job. She was the first person I've been to that listened to me when I said I didn't want my highlights to be too blond. She created a color for me that is just perfect; no one realizes that my hair is highlighted until I tell them. She really knows what she's doing and listens to what you want.

I live in the building, but I never utilized this place until I needed an eyebrow waxing.
I called to make an appointment, right when I got home from work (around 5:30). I arrived and was seated...only to be told that they had overbooked and needed to push me back to 6pm (they apologized, so it wasn't like they were being mean about it). I said fine, please call me on my cell when it was time for me to go down.
They ended up calling me at 6:15pm. Since I was just upstairs, I didn't really mind, but if I didn't live there, I would have been peeved having to wait 45 minutes past
