We've stayed here the last two summers and are always very pleased. Our room was cleaned spotless every single day. The pool area is really laid back and VERY clean. The grill area is awesome. A perfect way to eat in on vacation, and that area is also nice and clean. The hotel appears to me family owned.

Just got back after staying there for 3 nights. Went with a group of friends for an annual girls getaway. A friend of ours stayed there 30 years ago with her family when her children were small and she remembered as being a decent place to stay. Maybe it was back in the day but I can't say that for now. The place is definitely out of step, certainly no curbside appeal. When we pull in on Friday afternoon, the outside appearance appeared that it needed a good wash on the outside of the building. Looking at past reviews, seeing they range from the truly awful to truly wonderful; describing this as the 'home away from home' with special thanks given to innkeepers Ray and Linda. Our accommodation was disappointing as the website describes the suite as spacious and we felt there was barely room to move around. Pictures shown on the website should have given us a clue of what to expect. Some credited this place as being regularly updated but I'd say our room could be the last on the list. The furniture was worn and surface areas including our dining table needed a good scrubbing

If I could give this motel a 0, I would. This past weekend my husband and I went to stay at this motel for memorial weekend at first I didn't want to because I don't really trust motels but reading past reviews , I said I will give it a try. When I arrived there Friday after a long 3 hour drive , they tell me they don't have my reservation. I tell them to look good because I know I reserved here. They kept looking until they found my reservation. The lady gave me whatever room was available. I go upstairs to the room and I must say it is outdated. The bed are hard like a table and

My family and I stay here our first night we Found bed bugs in our room which is completely disgusting and then the owner who we told about the situation wanted to charge us for a 1 night stay when we did not even sleep there we had to go get another room in another hotel pay more on a memorial weekend.

If I could give no stars, I would. Horrible Horrible Horrible. From the minute we walked into that office to pay and get the key, we should've walked right out. The owner is very nasty. Not welcoming at all. The rooms are not updated. Everything is old and nasty. The pull out couch was dirty like it was never cleaned, and the mattress was more spring than cushion. The beds were very hard like sleeping on rocks. The pool hours are not good, 9:30-7 ??? Really??? Who closes the pool that early?? No guests allowed to hang out for few hours and have lunch with us? He was going to charge us $10

My family and I have been coming to this hotel for years and I have to tell you that this is truly a home away from home. I live in North Jersey and I have a wonderful block with wonderful neighbors and the Sand Dune is like home to us...except they do all the hard work and we just sit back and enjoy the beautiful CLEAN pool, CLEAN rooms and Linda, Ray, Stephanie, Ray Jr. (family owned) and the staff that they have are warm, wonderful and delightful people. They are always eager to remedy anything that you need, clean extra towels, if you need something for your kitchen that isn't already

I don't really have much to complain about this place. The staff was friendly, the room rates were pretty cheap compared to some of the other motels in the area during peak season, and the rooms were fairly clean and large. There's nothing really special about this motel, but it's about a block from the beach, and the pool's a pretty good size. I guess my only complaint is the chairs at the pool - kind of uncomfortable. Oh yeah - and they have a ping pong table which is a plus!
