How did three Mexicans and a guy from Philly end up serving fresh, authentic street food from Veracruz and Oaxaca in downtown Santa Fe? It was a long and winding road, with stops at some of Santa Fe's best loved institutions that eventually led our partners to form a destination of their own.
Before starting Tres Colores, the Sena brothers and Diaz worked at local favorites such as Vinaigrette, Il Piatto, the Coyote Cafe and Tomasita's and apprenticed under James Beard award finalist Martin Rios.Katz cut his culinary teeth back East, ending at the Italian eatery Upstares at Varalli before heading to the Southwest.

Fabulous lunch spot! The housemade sangria may well be the best I've had anywhere! The food is so fresh and flavorful. We had the roasted beet salad and the Mexican torta (basically a pulled pork sandwich). The sandwich was a lot to eat, I dare say it could easily have been shared and would still have been filling. The owners genuinely seem to like each other which made for good entertainment while we waited for our food. I would definitely go back!

Great fish tacos - you can see that thought was put into the color and the flavor delivers as expected. Selection of local beers does not leave you wanting. The habenero sauce hits the right scoville, subtle in small quantities and lingering when you finish the serving. I'll definitely be coming back.

Sub par and very under spiced. Likely the most bland carne asada and chicken tacos I have had in my life. Perhaps I came on an off day or the people saying this was one of the best Mexican food experiences they've had don't know what good Mexican is. I would suggest you avoid as there are tons more restaurants in Santa Fe for amazing Mexican food.

Had some fantastic service. The food was so fresh and delicious I couldn’t believe my meal could be served this quick and taste this good. I got the breakfast bowl just to avoid the calories of the tortilla and it was still delicious. Maybe I didn’t see it but I just wish they had sauces for your meal. Someone correct me if I’m wrong here.
