Santa Fe's oldest restaurant, welcomes you! This historic diner, in dowtown Santa Fe, offers locals and visitors authentic New Mexican cuisine and flavors that span the globe! We're the home of fine food and the friendliest folks in the southwest! The Plaza Cafe, Santa Fe's oldest restaurant, has been serving highly acclaimed, authentic traditional dishes since 1905.
In 1947, Dan Razatos, a Greek immigrant with an American dream, took over the Plaza Cafe and his family has been feeding Santa Fe ever since. Dan married a local girl named Beneranda and together they ran the Plaza and raised six children. As their children grew they all worked at the Plaza and helped to create what the restaurant is today.

I was always wary of restaurants right on the heavily tourist plaza, but in this case I was very wrong. The plaza Cafe is a wonderful diner with excellent food.
I had their plaza breakfast which was two eggs any style, hash browns, brown sugar bacon, and the most delicious pancakes, so good they didn't even need syrup.
The waitress was super friendly and the food arrived quickly.
So don't let the location, which is excellent, put you off, because the food is excellent too.

Absolutely delicious! You can't go wrong here. We visited after a long day of skiing and were so hungry. Plaza cafe does not disappoint! I ordered the avocado tacos and they were delightful. The avocado tacos were easy to eat. The table also ordered the NORTEÑO TACOS and they were delicious. Also the chips and queso was the best we had while in Santa Fe.
Make sure to get the sopaillas as they are truely amazing and the best around.

It was a cold and windy morning, but sitting outside on the patio it felt like spring. The enclosure blocked the wind and the sun kept us warm. The location is great because you can people watch and eat right in the center of town. I had a blue corn pancake because it was something couldn't normally get at home and a chai latte. The chai was okay, nothing super special, but the pancake with orange butter and cinnamon sugar was very fresh, very tasty, very unique (to me), and HUGE! I finished my plate of 1 pancake, but only because I'm greedy. My friend enjoyed her huevos rancheros

We loved this place so much, we came back for breakfast the next day. The atmosphere is homey and artsy, from the floor tile to the wall art. I ordered a cup of posole (red) and it was flavorful! My brother-in-law really liked his hatch chili burger, it was very filling. My sister ordered the Traditional Breakfast. Breakfast is served all day. Our waitress, Sharon, was very friendly and gave tips on which items to order. My sister ordered a hot chocolate with whipped cream and said it was delicious. We also ordered food to go and it came promptly without having to wait. The key lime pie was large

The food was delicious. We had the chili con queso, Frito Pie with beef, and my mom had the green chile stew. I am now effectively a Virginian so I am wimpy but the green chile was hot, very good and very generous but hot! The frito pie was soo good. I don't think I've ever had ground beef that tasted so good. The chili con queso was probably the star of the show though. We washed everything down with a Bosque Lager which pair nicely with everything and cooled the palate. Would recommend, service was a little weird but we attributed that with our server had outside tables and I think we were her

I stopped into The Plaza Cafe for the first time a couple of nights ago for dinner while visiting Santa Fe. The restaurant sits on the historic City Plaza in the heart of Santa Fe. It's a fairly large space with a mix of tables and booths as well as a counter where people can sit. Also, there is outside dining. The restaurant has a nostalgic feel to it with lots of nods towards diners of the past. It was also festively decorated for Christmas.
For my meal I went with my super knowledgeable server's recommendation and ordered the stuffed sopaipilla - New Mexico grass fed ground beef, sopaipilla

Original Diner atmosphere, complete with tin ceiling tiles. Everything on the menu comes with rave reviews. ♥️
Authentic SW Huevos Rancheros. Try it 'christmas style' to sample their red and green salsa.
Excellent Bloody Mary with fun, creative garnishes. The blue corn/ pinion nut pancakes were delightful, served w/ delicate cinnamon syrup & orange peel infused butter.
Be forewarned on windy cold days, you get a blast everytime the front door is opened.

Fantastic location and great food. Sitting outside was a big plus on a beautiful and sunny Autumn day. Food selection was great. Food was good although prices were on the high side. The service was excellent, but the front desk receptionist was probably having a hard time as she was not nice at all...well it can happen! Although there Arte many dinning places in Santa Fe this old timer restaurant is among the best.

Cute little diver-type spot serving break, lunch , and dinner. Today we tried the chop salad and the pumpkin pozole, which was one of the specials. Both were excellent. The pozole was pretty spicy with a chorizo broth. Salad ingredients were very fresh. Nice outdoor seating for good weather. We were very happy with this choice!

While in town, we had to try the plaza cafe! This downtown location has been here since 1905. The inside is filled with frame pictures of the plaza throughout the years which is remarkable to see.
It looks like a traditional diner inside. They have a lot of seating. We were sat right away but our service and food did take awhile. Granted, this was during lunch rush so I am not complaining.
They serve breakfast all day so I ordered the half order of French toast. It was to die for!! It comes with Apple slices and a maple butter. It was the best French toast I've ever had, hands down. I

On the day we stopped in for lunch this joint was jumping! Thankfully, we only waited about 5 minutes to be seated inside. We ordered the Hatch Chili Burger and the New Mexican chopped salad with grilled chicken. The salad was superb! The chicken was very moist and flavorful and the salad was very fresh. The Hatch Chili Burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. Considering the business of the restaurant the service was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Our first visit was in 1994! Place was classic diner then and now they have upped their image!
The place looks great!! Retro decor still but fresh and new! Server/crew uniforms are a nice touch.
Food is as delicious as we remembered and we service was prompt and friendly!!
Cream in the little pitcher was a great touch!

Excellent New Mexican food! I had the Chicken Enchiladas and my hubby had the Chicken Burrito. The green chili's were spicy, but not too hot. The Soppapaillas melted in your mouth. We ate out on the patio in the Plaza...so beautiful. A great meal for our last day in New Mexico. Oh, and staff was wonderful!

We were visiting Santa Fe, and my wife and I stopped here for lunch. She had the chopped salad with chicken. She asked that they not put corn in the salad, but they put corn in here salad.
I ordered the Breakfast Burrito, with sausage. My burrito was great, everything was fresh. I had both green and red chili. The burrito was delicious. The prices were high, but this is a tourist area.
Our waiter was Valentin, and he was great. He was very attentive and kept filling our drinks regularly. The restaurant was noisy and a bit crowded.
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone

We visited the Plaza Cafe for breakfast while on vacation. We sat outside in the "dog friendly" patio. I had the traditional breakfast which consisted of eggs, thick cut bacon, and hash browns. Everything was cooked to perfection. The bacon was not overcooked. The hash browns were crispy on one end and the other side moist and yummy. My wife got the yogurt parfait. She loved it.
This place is a must if you want a no frills great breakfast.
Our server Violette was very friendly and took good care of us.
I'm sure we will eat here again before leaving town.

If you're looking for a break from the green and red chili smothered entrees in Santa Fe and want more of a steak or some other dish that does not scream smothered you may want to come here.
They serve breakfast all day from what I heard, they have a diverse menu to choose from and they are also within walking distance from the plaza.
We did go for the streak option which comes in 2 ways: steak and cheese enchilada or steak and fries and calabacitas (zucchini blend ).
The appetizers offer queso, guacamole and salsa to try along with chips. The queso and the guac are both infused with green
