Skyway Animal Hospital Inc. in St. Petersburg FL is a full-service veterinary care hospital, offering preventive veterinary medicine, consultations, routine check-ups, sickness exams, laboratory analysis, x-rays, surgery and dentistry. Our veterinary hospital is located in the city of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Julie has been with Skyway Animal Hospital for over 40 years. She is always happy to greet you at the front desk and enjoys spending that extra time with clients to "understand their pet's needs in order to provide the exceptional veterinary wellness service provided by our doctors and staff." In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her family, her two cats, Max and Hobbit, and gardening.
Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our hospital is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately and see our emergency vet. If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Dr. William C. Slocumb, owner of Skyway Animal Hospital, received both his Bachelor of Science degree and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University Of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974.
Immediately following graduation, Dr. Slocumb and his wife Anne moved to St. Petersburg, FL to accept a position at Skyway Animal Hospital where he has remained for 46 years.Dr. Slocumb is a member and past president of the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association (PCVMA), and a member of both the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, (FVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

Skyway Animal Hospital Inc. has a large boarding facility to accommodate cats and all sizes of dogs for the St. Petersburg area. We will feed a special commercial diet at request. We feed our guests twice daily and provide a minimum of three daily walks in our large exercise pen (59 feet x 41 feet).

Skyway was recommended by a friend who's lived in St. Pete for 46 years. They are huge cat lovers like myself. I began taking my cats there last year. 3 of my cats have been taken there so far and I am very pleased with the way my cats have been treated by them. I'm extremely serious about taking good care of my cats.

I've been bringing my kitties here since 2018. Everyone who works here is wonderful, communicative, and caring.
Since the pandemic started, they switched practice to picking up your pet from under their carport after you arrive and call. They always ask very detailed questions, and I know my babies are being given the best care.
Dr. Povis has called me during each appointment and has given detailed updates and been very patient and reassuring when answering all my questions.
I also have boarded my cats here multiple times, and I always feel safe going out of town knowing they're under such good
