My dog, Luther, came down with pancreatitis and a GI bleed. He spent the night at the emergency vet until I could get him to AMH the next day! Our dedicated veterinarians and staff have been providing excellent care to the dogs, cats and exotic pets of St. Petersburg for more than 60 years. All animals need regular dental care, both at home and professionally. According the American Veterinary Dental Society, over 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have evidence of dental disease by the age of 3. Untreated, dental disease can cause pain, tooth loss, periodontal disease and damage to internal organs.
Whether your pet is just coming for a day at the spa or needs to stay in our kennel while you are away, we are here to make your pet's experience pleasant and comfortable. Our dedicated kennel staff is ever alert to your pet's needs. Our clients find comfort in knowing that veterinarians are supervising our kennel and are on-site every day to address any issues that may arise while their pets are at Animal Medical Hospital.
Emergency Service is available at our veterinary hospital (Saint Petersburg, FL) during our regular office hours. We know that, when possible, you would prefer to have your pet's emergency care performed by doctors and staff who are familiar with you and your pet. If you have an emergency problem with your pet during our normal office hours, we want to see you as soon as possible.

At the end of 2017 I brought my mom's 8 year old cat Misty in. She'd been acting very strange- no coordination, dilated eyes, inability to stand. She'd been a perfectly healthy and active cat before this. The nurse interviewed me before the doctor came in and asked some questions, including what she had been eating. I said that for the last month my mom had been feeding her tuna. The nurse said nothing about that. The woman veterinarian came in a few minutes later. The only questions she asked were how long the cat had been like this, I answered a couple of days, and did she get into anything like
