Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic is a small animal veterinary practice in the heart of the Mid-City/Goodwood area. Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic prides itself on recruiting the most kind, caring, and skilled veterinarians and vet techs to treat and care for your pets. A native Texan, Dr. Taylor has lived in Baton Rouge since 1986. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1985 with a degree in zoology. She attended LSU Vet School and graduated in 1993.
We believe that regular checkups and appropriate immunizations are essential to a happy, healthy, long life for pets. We follow the American Animal Hospital Association guidelines for vaccinations, and we use long duration vaccines when available.
We like to take our time to get to know our patients, and we make it a point to customize our vaccination recommendations based on the pet's and owner's lifestyle rather than push a "one-size-fits-all" approach.Most pets will need regular parasite checks, and we also recommend blood testing for older pets and those on certain medications.

Our priority is to make sure your pet enjoys their spa experience and ends up looking and feeling great. To provide a relaxing environment, we have located our bathing and grooming rooms in the back of the facility where the groomer and your pet are free from distractions. Our groomer has multiple years of grooming and animal handling experience, which means she is able to work with all pet personalities!
In addition to our full pet pharmacy, which offers prescription dispensing and refills, Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic proudly offers and recommends the following foods and healthcare products for your pets. An even greater variety of additional products are available through Vetsource, our own online pharmacy.

I'm a truck driver and I have a diabetic dog I was going through Baton Rouge and my dog's insulin got froze. They worked very hard with my veterinarian in Nebraska to get it arranged so I can get a new bottle of insulin for my dog. Another vet clinic down there was going to charge me a hundred fifty bucks before they would even give me a bottle. I couldn't ask for a much nicer clinic to help me out of a predicament! Thank you
