Viaggio is truly a special place. The menu may appear simple or even limited but every single bite on your plate will be seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. Our server Sebastian was poised and knowledgeable. The setting is understated and relaxed. We are very lucky to have a restaurant if this caliber near us.

Service was good...knowledgable waitress and attentive. Bread was amazing.
Octopus was super small even by European standards. The sirloin was tasty however quite fatty in areas.
The restauant charges 4% fee for credit cards sothey are using this as a revenue stream and are driving patrons to use cash that one would assume is not being reported. Raise the prices 4% and stop playing games.

We sat at the bar as we didn't have a reservation. ( We happened to be in the area and stumbled upon the restaurant at 6 on Friday night, so we were lucky to get in at all)
For apps we had the fried cauliflower - delicious not greasy and freshly made.
As another reviewer mentioned, the bread is also very good.
For dinner we had the tagliatelle with mushrooms and steak shoulder dishes, both were excellent. The pasta was homemade and came out perfectly al dente and the steak was tender juicy and delicious.
Finished up the evening with the blueberry cheesecake and coffees...also excellent.

A real delight. May not look like much from the outside but inside it feels like a totally different place. Great atmosphere. Pleasant staff (shout out to Camila who was an absolute gem and went above and beyond my expectations to make sure everything was perfect. Thank you for being kind, welcoming, and patient. We ordered about half the menu and everything was amazing. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the flavors were outstanding. Highly recommend the tagliatelle. The mushroom breadcrumbs added the most delightful crunch to the dish. Creamy and full of delicious flavors. Probably my favorite

Finally got around to trying this place, it's been on my list since before COVID... We had 3 courses and each one was delicious as the next. Our server suggested the calamari which I am glad we went with - it was spectacular, with some sort of cream sauce, it was very unique as well. We split a pasta dish in a red wine ragu which again was equally as amazing - and was cooked perfectly al dente. For dinner, I had the chicken dish on their seasonal menu, which normally I wouldn't get. So often chicken is uninteresting, but here it had so many layers of flavor, it was a real surprise. We

We attended a surprise retirement party for our close friend. The food & service was above & beyond.
Each dish was amazing - from the appys to the main meal.
The cauliflower with the special sauce, the buttersqaush ravioli, the different pastas,
Pork chop & sliced steak.
Definitely plan a night to try this restaurant!

My husband and I had dinner here last night and though the food was very good, there are a few issues we found with this restaurant, and the reason for the 3 star rating. First off, the menu is very small, and a few of the specials were even sold out, so the offerings are limited. Secondly, we came with our son and there was no child's menu, and the only item they offered to make him was plain pasta. We agreed for them to bring the plain pasta, even though we knew our son wouldn't particularly enjoy it. At the end of the meal, we saw they charged us $16 for a plate of plain pasta, when

This place is worth the hype!!! At first I missed my turn bc you go through a gas station to get to the strip mall. Once I got there, the ambiance inside the restaurants is great and they also have outdoor seating. It's a small menu but I can appreciate that because everything I got was phenomenal. We started off with the calamari, seriously this is top 3 including my travels to Italy. The Cacio e Pepe Scarpinocc was a burst of flavor with each bite. The pappadelle was delicious. And lastly the steak, although my least favorite thing it was still delicious. Cool perfectly I just wish it was

I am giving this restaurant 3 stars because for the price charged for dining , the food tastes average and the service is not very good.
They do use fresh quality ingredients and the restaurant atmosphere is nice but again coming from the city, for the price like this I’d anticipate a whole lot more.

Overall, a very pleasant dining experience. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
We ordered the calamari for appetizer--excellent and very unique flavor blending. Highly recommend. We also got the special, flower blossoms stuffed with cheese and seasoning. Tasty.
For a Sunday evening, we were one of three tables so for those facing issues to noise and/or Covid crowds, we felt very safe.
BYOB.
Cons:
4% credit card charge on an already high priced menu. Thought this was a little cheap/sleazy of a call by the restaurant. This should be rethought.
The cod arrabbiata dinner was not worth the

Finally made it to Viaggio and it did not disappoint! Everything and everyone from start to finish was fantastic. Our server (forget her name) was awesome. All of our food was top notch. The calamari appetizer was excellent as well as the special squash blossoms appetizer which is always a treat. The pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly which was refreshing. Highly recommend stopping in and don't let the facade fool you! This is a top notch restaurant. Definitely adding Robbie Felice's other restaurant, Osteria Crescendo, to the list now too!

Came for date night and ate outside. Waiters were super attentive and changed our plates after each course. We started with the calamari and it was to die for. The lemon butter was out of this world and the pickled onions cut through the heaviness. We had the pappardelle next and it was seasoned very well. The steak was tender and came with a slightly sweet barbecue sauce. Potatoes were crispy and was probably my favorite part of the dish. Overall a good experience, but they did give us a credit card fee despite us paying in cash. Would definitely come back for the calamari.

Tonight was my second time at Viaggio and again, it did not disappoint. Great pasta dishes - tonight I tried the lamb ravioli and cacio e pepe scarpinocc. The balsamic glaze on the cacio e pepe was the perfect balance to the rich filling. But the cod dish stole the show - topped with salumi, cucumber and sundried tomatoes, the fish was flakey and buttery. Absolutely delicious meal!

Exceeded our expectations both in terms of flavor and service. Every staff member was friendly and engaged, there were absolutely no hiccups. The food came out with perfect pacing and was a complete delight.
For 2 people, we shared the beets and cauliflower apps, both were sensational. The pairing of mint and pistachio (2 ways) with the beats was a highlight. The cauliflower app (not pictured), while almost monochromatic in presentation was terrific. The batter was light and crispy, with oodles of flavor, especially with the squeeze of lemon.
Next up was the pasta. We went with the ravioli with

A last minute decision to go grab something to eat lead us to try Viaggio. Place was busy but not crowded so we got a table inside right away. The manager and servers were all very pleasant and polite. When we received the menus I was a bit disappointed in the size of the menu as it was very limited. I don't need a diner sized menu but a few more options would be nice. We ordered 2 appetizers. The charred octopus and the burrata. The octopus was very tender and flavorful while the burrata was to me flavorless. It was average at best. For our main courses Sandra had PAPPARDELLE "alla MEMA

Another excellent experience at Viaggio! My date and I went the day NJ lifted certain COVID restrictions and it was great to see a full dining room at one of our favorite NJ eateries. We started with an appetizer off the specials menu (shrimp stuffed soft shell crab), which was excellent. That was followed by the ramp fazzoletti, a homemade pasta pressed with ramp leaves and served with an incredibly flavorful mix of ramp butter and parmigiano fonduta. Glad I saved a piece of bread to sop the sauce up! I ordered the Barnegat Bay scallops cioppino as my entree, and thoroughly enjoyed the collection

My boyfriend and I were in the area and decided to try this restaurant.
Base on my opinion and the many places I've been to eat I will say it's actually overrated. The place inside it's cozy , the welcoming of the staff were very friendly, there is someone making sure of writing down your food allergies before you order to make sure you don't have any reactions to none of their dishes. First , when we sat down they gave us a piece of bread with plain olive oil to dip in.

Fantastic meal!
Bread is perfection
Appetizers - octopus and tricolor salad were amazing
Pasta - Tagliatelle Bolognese special was out of this world. The Busta Di Zucca was equally impressive (butternut squash inside is AMAZING)
Branzino - filleted and cooked perfectly, but I wish it was larger
Desserts - chocolate olive oil cake was outstanding, as well as the Panna cotta (cleanses the palette somewhat since the orange and cranberry is tart)
Overall, excellent meal and great service. Pretty rustic decor (but my dad thought we were in a basement when I sent pics)
Cons - portions are small

Ate here last month with my girlfriend. Wow what an experience. Snugged away in a strip mall of all places—thought we came to the wrong spot lol. The food here is incredible. Also had the Busta Di Zucca, not pictured because we inhaled it—out of this world. The service was fantastic—we did not lift a finger aside from eating. Our server Michael was very enthusiastic about the menu and we took pretty much all of his recommendations. On top of all this it’s a BYO. Will be back for sure.

Probably hands down the best food I've had in jersey. Everything here was top notch, even the bread that was served (disclaimer it was sourced from a bakery in NYC).
Every dish we had was just amazing and having usually lived in places that have a lot more food option (NYC/SF), this really came as a shock to me to see a place with this quality in the middle of Jersey.
Will be sure to take more people here when I want to impress them in boring jersey
