We have successfully utilized these and other services to transmit empty hand and weapons form as well as theory, principles, and demonstrations of self-defense.
We are able to come to your facility/ location and to teach a variety of 2-12 hour courses in various Health or Martial Art areas. Call us to tell us your needs. If we aren't able to meet your needs we will attempt to direct you to someone who may be able to assist you. This is a small sample of possible topics.
Bagua Zhang, translated as Eight Diagram/Trigram Palm, is an art that explores the eight areas surrounding a center point. Imagining us at the center of a circle, Bagua employs techniques and movements that pass through the interior and exterior of the circle. This enables us to defend from the eight surrounding directions.
While many people may associate martial arts with violence or with extraordinary athleticism, at Wu Shen Tao, we do not stress violence, nor will you be required to engage in activities for which you are not ready.
Our goal is to introduce you to the spiritual, martial and/or health-related aspects of training by offering a variety of programs ranging from Qi Gong, Tai Chi (Tai ji) and meditation to self-defense and combat weaponry; with many choices available in between.Although competition is not a requirement for study, we have trained well over 4 dozen national championship gold medal winners.

Paul is a Master Teacher. He is kind, generous, specific, inspiring, and maintains high standards while also communicating that he believes everyone can grow. Paul believes in good form which will allow us to elevate our capacity physically, spiritually, and mentally. I entered his class two years ago with a bad back, two bad knees, and a torn tendon in my shoulder. I am now in the best shape of my life, and I have greater skills to access in all aspects of my life outside of tai chi.

Perhaps this is great studio for some, but if you have physical disabilities, this is not the studio for you. If you are trans, this is *explicitly* not the place for you.
Sifu Paul Ramos called me a “primadonna” for respecting the limits my physical therapist had suggested given severe muscular issues. That alone would be rude, but sometimes people are rude. However, something to consider if you have injuries or disabilities that prevent you from moving in the way he expects you to be able to move.

Paul Ramos, the head sifu of the Wu Shen Tao school, to me is a hidden gem in Takoma Park. It's unassuming outward appearance, is really a force in the tai-chi and martial arts community. Paul is full of knowledge on martial arts and goes into great details on the forms with dedication. His philosophies are imparted on more senior students who carry the rigor as Paul. The Wu Shen Tao community fostered by Paul has students of all levels helping one another in various forms from beginning to more advanced forms. It's the place to be for those who are martial arts enthusiasts - in particular, tai

I've been taking Tai Chi classes at Wu Shen Tao for almost 4 years now, and I have enjoyed it immensely. Paul is a meticulous teacher with outstanding knowledge and experience. A lot of people seem have preconceived notions that Tai Chi is some sort of Chinese equivalent to yoga, for old people with bad knees to do to improve their balance. A few weeks of classes at Wu Shen Tao ought to dispel that notion forever. Paul teaches Tai Chi as a martial art and works in all sorts of applications to the different forms. Its very helpful to understand why you need to perform a certain maneuver just so

As a former athlete and frequent visitor to physical therapy, I was looking for a new way to get my body in shape so as to reduce future chances for injury. What I found was so much more. Tai Chi at Wu Shen Tau has elevated my spirit, expanded my community, and provided me with a pathway to focus my energy on sustainable practices to ensure physical and psychological health and well being. Paul is a gifted instructor who maintains high expectations for technique and artistry while always making me feel like I can achieve my goals through patience, focus and good faith. There is no better time or

I have been practicing Tai-Chi at Wu Shen Tao for just over a year. My overall experience is that it is a terrific place for students of Tai-Chi and other Chinese internal martial arts.
Sifu Paul Ramos is an internationally recognized practitioner and teacher. He is also a senior judge at national and international competitions.
Rather than the "let's all work on the same technique" teaching method which predominates in Washington DC area Tai-Chi classes, most of the practice sessions at Wu Shen Tao are like a one-room school house. New students are working on beginning exercises

I decided to try Tai Chi for both its health benefits and for its fun self defense/ martial arts side. After several months at this school, I can say I definitely made a good choice.
Paul Ramos is a masterful teacher of Tai Chi, as well as other internal martial arts. The community of students and assistant instructors at Wu Shen Tao is also a lovely collection of people. I've loved martial arts for my whole life, and despite studying many styles with many teachers over the years, I have never found a teacher or a school that felt so right.

Paul Ramos is an amazing instructor who addresses the talents and needs of each individual student. I attended several tai chi classes and learned much about the patience and skill that Paul has for the Pushing Hands form of tai chi. His guidance was encouraging but neither demanding nor unreasonable.
During class, he would always warm up with everyone and then guide students individually to improve their skills based on his or her own pace and success thus far.
I was always impressed at the calming strength of these classes in providing a balanced workout- though in a non traditional sense

Great martial arts school to learn Tai Chi, Bagua, and XIngyi! After bouncing around different marital arts schools for a few years I decided to settle on Wu Shen Tao back in 2008 and I'm so glad I did! Sifu Paul Ramos does an excellent job teaching the fundamentals of each style and tailors the program to each individual. He comes from an authentic lineage and stresses both the self-defense, health, and the mind expansion aspects of internal martial arts.
