At Bonny Doon Preschool we offer a program that reflects our philosophy that young children learn most effectively in a play centered environment. At Bonny Doon Preschool we emphasize learning through play in an anti-bias environment that is carefully planned to encourage discovery, independence and social interaction.
In order to develop self-esteem, social competence and critical thinking skills, children are encouraged to help themselves, help others, take initiative, and become increasingly independent. At the core of children's learning is play. It is during self-initiated play that children move through the developmental stages that lead to physical, cognitive, social and emotional maturity.

Services
To develop child-centered learning: Our play-based curriculum allows learning to emerge naturally by encouraging the children's natural curiosity and desire to learn. We promote independence and cooperative learning by guiding children's interactions with the classroom environment, their peers, and their teachers.
My name is Jennifer Koski and this will be my seventeenth year at Bonny Doon Community Preschool. Over the course of my time with BDCP I have enjoyed both administrating and teaching in the program. Professionally I have worked both as a business manager for over a decade for Kinko's Inc. and with children as a nanny in Germany and Italy and a preschool teacher in the States.
I can't say enough good things about Bonny Doon Preschool, and our family is so grateful for the care and attention that our child receives there! The staff have worked tirelessly to design a space that naturally encourages learning through play, and to foster a sense of community among the students.
The primary function of the Board is to work in conjunction with the Executive Director (Jennifer Koski) to set (and review, evaluate and revise when appropriate) the direction of the Preschool. The Board and Executive Director establish and maintain the direction of the school including purpose, mission, goals and objectives.
