Redeemer Preschool
Since 1994, Redeemer Preschool has provided a rich environment where children gain confidence, self-esteem and a love of learning. Our program is play-based and promotes learning in all developmental areas that are specific to a child's emergent ideas and interests. Small class sizes and low teacher-to-student ratios (no more than 1:7) give each child the opportunity to learn at their own pace and in their own style.

Redeemer Preschool is composed of a professional team of teachers and administrators, a board of directors, a parent association, students and their families. Teachers observe the children to discover their interests and develop curriculum based on these observations. We believe that play gives children the opportunity to understand their environment, interact with others, and develop their imagination and creativity.
Services
Founded in 1994, Redeemer Preschool is a mission of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Redeemer Preschool provides a safe and welcoming place for children to develop and grow through quality learning, supported by a community of faith, that welcomes all people. Redeemer Preschool provides a rich environment where children gain confidence and self-esteem, and a love of learning.
We serve children from 2.6 years of age until they enter Kindergarten. Your child does not need to be toilet trained when they enter the preschool at the age of two or three. However, all children must be toilet trained to be enrolled in the Pre-K classrooms. We are a year-round school. A school year typically starts after our summer break (the second week of August) and ends the third week of July (of the following year).
We believe that every child is unique. We tailor our approach to each individual child's social, emotional, and intellectual needs. We believe that play gives children opportunities to understand their environment, interact with others in social ways, express and control emotions, and develop their imagination and creativity.
Our curriculum prepares children to get along well with others and become enthusiastic learners. We provide a purposeful and inspiring learning environment that helps children grow in all areas of development: social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language. The goal is for each child to be prepared for success in school.
The move to kindergarten is a process that is most successful when it is carefully planned out. At Redeemer, we start preparing our children for school from a very young age. We ensure that our children enjoy their school experiences. We also guide children through steady growth in social, physical, language and academic skills throughout their preschool years and encourage parent's involvement in their children's education.

I got to pay it forward and give Redeemer a more recent review here. Yelp randomly suggested I write a review for Redeemer, which is sort of creepy - how do they know my kids go here. I digress. Shout out to Susan and Erin who put themselves out there and shared their experiences. Lesley too. To each's own.

Anyway, our daughter LOVES this school. We can walk to it from our house so unless they were employing ex-felons, we were going to do pretty much anything we could to get our kids into this school. Kidding...sort of. Also, there are no ex-felons here; moving on.

The teachers are incredible

We absolutely love this school. My son has been attending for a year and a half and my second son will be starting in the fall. The only tears shed on his part are when I pick him up and he doesn't want to leave. I am so grateful for the love, structure, and support he receives from everyone there. It really feels like they are a team and an excellent partner to me no matter what my 3 year old is going through.

It is true they have a new director, and although she is younger than the previous director, she is mature and confident. She is one of the most kind-hearted people I have had the

My son has been a student at Redeemer Preschool for two and a half years, and I can't say enough good things about this amazing school, the wonderful director & teachers and fantastic curriculum. Redeemer has been such an enriching and transformative experience for my child and our entire family. We feel so fortunate to be a part of this community.

Redeemer is located in the Glenwood neighborhood of San Rafael, behind the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. The preschool is not religiously affiliated, however. When I was looking for a preschool for my son, I wanted a school that was
