Here you are feeling stuck; you know something needs to change but you arenot sure what or how. My name is Nuriye Rumeli. I am an LPC in Manchester CT.

First and foremost, my practice is focused on creating an accepting, sacred healing space to process and to resolve big and small trauma(s), depression, anxiety, panic attacks using brain-body based interventions such as Mindfulness Meditation, Somatic Psychotherapy and EMDR; we will create the best treatment plan to help you heal yourself and move beyond creating a toolbox of coping skills that bring temporary relief.

Counseling sessions are unique to you because each one of us experiences life and its challenges (whether depression, anxiety, big Trauma or small trauma) differently. Therapy is not and cannot be "one size fits all". My emphasis is on being present, consistent, respectful, accepting, and genuine. I am in the "here and now" yet I am ready to explore the past if you are.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy which uses eye movement and other bilateral movement that help in reprocessing distressing memories and beliefs. Although it is commonly used for post traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), EMDR has been well researched for disorders such as panic attacks, depression, addiction, grief, phobias, sexual and/or physical abuse, disturbing memories.
Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, or MBCT, is designed for people who suffer from repeated bouts of depression or chronic unhappiness. It combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness.

Recent research has shown that people who have been clinically depressed three or more times in their life find that learning mindfulness-based skills help to considerably reduce their chances of depression returning.If you can relate to any of the above issues, mindfulness-based therapy may be right for you.
