Not a horrible place by no means, you can tell from the size of the building the rooms are at most cozy. Room 201 is a balcony room with an amazing view of lovers park. Of course your going to pay a little more than expected for the accomodations you actually get. But the view the location amazing... It like 0.3 miles from Monterey Bay Aquarium,and like 0.5 miles from Cannery row. Just to let people know their is parking under the Inn, or you can park along mermaid lane. The recently added two charging ports for electric vehicles which incorporate the two parking spaces directly after the registration

The motel is gross. The hot water didn't work, there was no parking, the decor outdated and super small rooms and bathrooms. The worst thing was the 2 hour long line you had to stand in to ck in. Everybody arrives at ck in time, 4 PM, and there is only one guy checking EVERYBODY in.
The worst thing was the motel charged me 2x!! And listed some misc. charge of 20 bucks. CK you statement carefully if you stay here.

Pretty location but feel pretty deceived about our room accommodations. The higher the floor the higher the price. I paid for the top floor wanting to get the best views. However I was put in a room that gave me a view of the stairwell. When I called to change rooms I was told there were no changes that could be made, that the price would be the same regardless of view and that view would not be guaranteed. I’m disappointed and would not stay here again.

We have stayed here several times. It is a little dated but always clean.
This time, however, they messed up our reservation. They checked us out a day early and booked our room to someone else. So we were out on a Saturday night, with no place to stay.
All the clerk had to say was, "sorry, there is nothing we can do".
That wasn't right and we won't be staying here again.

To start off when we got there the parking lot was inaccessible due to a large truck blocking off the entrance and we ended up parking down the street. Once we got there the staff there wasn’t very friendly and not very helpful seemed like they were ready to leave. We confirmed our reservations with the Hispanic man there and paid for the room that we reserved. I checked with him before paying that the room we had reserved was what the website showed. Once all of that was done I decided to check the room before bringing in our bags. To make this story short (I hope) I went up and came back down

The view is nice and the room was clean, but it looked nothing like the picture. Zero amenities including no a/c and no central heating. All we had was one of those small portable heaters that only worked if it was tilted forward. I tried to get 2 more room keys and the guy would only give me 1! The service was absolutely terrible and it wasn't exactly cheap.

It was not AT ALL what we expected... BUYER BEWARE GO ELSEWHERE!!! Not worth it. At one point the elevator didn't want to go up and slid to a stop, thankfully we were ready to leave at that point. The icing on the cake was the fraudulent charges they placed on my card for two additional nights when I checked out after 1 day.

Once we laid down to sleep, we bolted our door, put out the "Do Not Disturb Sign" and shut the T.V. off and fell fast asleep. UNTIL I hear the dead bolt of our door being open at about 11:30 p.m. Door is opening and I jump out of bed screaming and hollering. Fortunately, the rooms are so small, our bed was within 2-3 feet of the front door. I slammed on the door and pushed out whoever was entering my room.
Further investigation when we flipped the lights on revealed

This place has the most horrible customer service I have EVER encountered. We made a reservation to stay for 1 night and was not allowed into the room without my husband who was at a golf retreat. I let the front desk know that this was under my husbands name however, I had all the information needed as well as had my husband contact the hotel. We were denied access to a room we were paying $300+ for. The check-in was at 4pm and we tried to go in at 6pm (stayed there arguing with the worker for an hour while my child and mother in law were in the car). We paid $263 for a very mediocre room with no breakfast, mid-week. The hotel site says that their pricing is best, but did see after I'd reserved & paid that I could have gotten the room cheaper on Hotels.com.
Room was billed as an ocean front room, but our view is partially obscured by buildings in front of it. The roo. is clean, but not very swanky. See pics. Bed is comfy, nice sheets, towels & sundries. Across the street from Lover's Point Park.

Ok...so I booked on Hotels.com and the pictures on this website are NOT!! What you get!! The room is like a cheap road motel room, without A/C ,the only good thing is the is footsteps away from the ocean/beach other than that be ready to be dessapointed with the room which will make you feel like you rented it for a quickie with a corner HOE!!!

I stayed at Lover's Point Inn on August 1st. I received a subsequent charge on August 3rd. According to the Inn the TV had a crack in the screen and they billed me for the damage. I never touched the TV. This is an unscrupulous way to create revenue. I am absolutely disgusted and encourage others to book elsewhere

First of all I have to comment on the parking situation. Parking is horrible!!! They do not have enough parking spaces for all the rooms. They have a small parking area on first level and an additional very small parking area under ground. So, if you leave in the evening or at night sure enough when you return you will not be able to park on grounds, you will have to park on the street. Then you have to be up bright and early to move your car by 8am or else you will be ticketed. Believe me they have plenty of meter maids patrolling the area too!

Payed $400 for "ocean view from balcony" and we could barely hear the water let alone see it. Fell asleep to the sound of cars rushing by on the busy street below and people talking from what sounded like right outside our window thought we're 3 floors up. Woke up at 2AM to loud conversations through the paper thin walls. The room felt and looked pretty much like a Motel 6. Definitely over payed. Could have payed the same price for a nice room more in land. It is walking distance to the beach. The towels were good.

They have a 4:00 check in - ok, no problem- until they don't let you check in until 6:15. To add insult to injury the attendant was rude and wouldn't let us use the restroom while we waited. We called corporate but guess what - they were closed and no manager we could talk to.
The rooms are quaint and slightly dated. The water pressure is a joke. If you're tall like me be ready to do a back-bend to wash your hair. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was the beds were comfortable.

Staff was friendly. NO A/C. Very few spots to park for vehicles over 6’. Most parking garages fit up to 6’7” or 6’8”, but not this one. Room was very hot inside. We opened windows, but couldn’t leave them open due to people on balcony smoking weed. Not great for families. Walls were paper thin. Above occupants were very noisy and stomped until after midnight. We received phone call at 6:30 am to see if we would need housekeeping on that day. We were trying to sleep in. There was a tower fan in the room that barely worked. Been dealing with a misaligned sliding door. One guy came in. He made it worse. Maintenance man came. They took both the sliding door off and the stationary one too. We asked to be moved to another room and was told that it won't take long. 3 hours later, almost 9pm, cold!!! And still got the wind blowing in , no glass in the sliding door/ window and still not put in another room. 50 degrees inhere.

This is a good place if you're just looking for a place to sleep? But even then the bed super uncomfortable. I've been in cheaper hotels with comfier beds. Sleeping on the floor would've been more comfortable.

I booked this hotel because it was right on the ocean. I thought I did enough research. Looked at hotels.com, etc. Never thought to check Yelp. The pictures on Hotel.com are so deceiving!
My plan was to book a hotel room on the ocean so I could sleep by myself because I'm a mom and I need self care. $225 for the night after taxes. Not worth it. Walls are paper thin. Room is OK. The bed is not comfortable, the pillows felt lumpy and hard. If this room was $70 I wouldn't be writing this review.

Had a really unfortunate interaction with both staff and management leading to a one star review. I can't speak to the property because unfortunately my flight in was cancelled. I called the hotel to work with them on my cancellation for the hotel and the manager on duty (she wouldn't share her name) was incredibly rude about the situation. I originally called through my credit card company to find a resolution and she hung up on them twice and then when I called later on not only what she directly unprofessional to me and hung up twice.

The ONLY perk is location, as you will see on most of their other reviews. My husband and I came to Monterey for our first get away after starting a family. The pictures on their website are beyond deceiving. And I tried to do my research- disappointed I didn't think to look at yelp.
The hotel is no better than your average motel 6, which sadly I think I've had better stays at. Out dated, dirty, even grungy I'd say. Our king room, 169 for Friday night, 229 for Saturday night was supposed to have ocean view... no. We had the view of their laundry room and a stair well.
