While you are browsing in many of the unique shops (bookstores, clothing, furniture, gifts, hardware, jewelry, toys etc.), you can enjoy the historical Victorians, have lunch at one of several great restaurants, walk down to the ocean and just relax.

I have stayed in several places in PG over the years and this was the worst one .... The outside is so unkept... the inside :Moldy smell, not very clean bedding-I had to swap out my sheets right away, and for the price - they can do WAY better. The fan in the bathroom motor is super loud- hole in shower curtain ( the bathroom was clean). It's not worth the price. There are so many other places to stay in PG. The desk staff was nice though, and apologized but failed to provide remedies( it's not their fault) they just work here. It blows me away how these places are bringing in so much

Me and my family had a weekend planned in August to stay at the Monterey Pennisula Inn. A few days before our stay, our daughter was diagnosed with cancer.  I called the Inn to cancel the reservation and explained the situation to the person on the other end of the phone.  He said he would relay the message to the Manager,  but he felt that I would not be charged the late cancelation fee due to the circumstances, but to our surprise we were.  I have tried several times to contact the Manager, Aaron, with no luck.  I have left message after message since September with no response..  I even

So upon arriving at this location I was a tad sketched out by the old motel feel of the place, however the outside was still very charming and super clean. When we entered our room I was COMPLETELY blown away! So clean and updated and welcoming and new and just amazing! The kitchenette was perfect and the bathroom was super clean! The beds were so comfortable and the fireplace was an amazing touch. We will definitely recommend this place to friends and family and we will be staying here again for sure!

My partner and I were booked to stay at the Monterey Peninsula Inn, but due to COVID exposure, could sadly not make our reservation. We had very much looked forward to our stay, and were disappointed to cancel. Luckily, Michael at the front desk made the cancellation exceptionally easy and was very kind and generous through the whole process! Great customer service :)

The. Worst. Experience. EVER!!! I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to stay at this place! First, the bed. Seriously the WORST bed I have EVER slept in! My wife can sleep pretty much anywhere on anything and she had the WORST nights sleep EVER! Second, when I went to pick up the TV remote, it was STICKING TO MY HAND! Felt like I needed 3 showers after just touching the remote! Third, the LACK of customer service! After the first of what was supposed to be a 3 night stay, we decided we couldn’t take 2 more nights. So we went to the front desk and was told (by Derek, the supposed “manager”

Lovely little inn to stay at. Staff was friendly, inn was always neat, and it was in a quiet part of town. Not too far from the Cannery row, this place is perfect for exploring Monterey and the surrounding area.

First and last time at this place! I will give it 5 stars for the deco. It is nicely decorated and modern looking and clean. The pictures online were probably what drew us in to book here. I will give it a 1 star for everything else about this place. The room was super small! Our room had a Queen size bed and you had to scoot sideways to get to the bed! Seriously! Bed and pillows not comfy. The walls are paper thin. You can hear ever single car and motorbike that went by not to mention every noise your neighbors made in their rooms! TV on the wall near bed was awkward to watch as you

This hotel has zero flexibility when it comes to their cancellations, even during COVID! I have been trying to cancel/rebook my rook, and they are so inflexible. I am not feeling well as well as my friend that is traveling with me, and we are taking precautions 5 days in advance to cancel or rebook the room, and they just take so long to pick up the phone and then cannot provide me with a solution to this problem. Most hotels are considerate of their future guests, and this hotel just doesn't care if one has covid symptoms. So frustrating to find such an inconsiderate property.

I don't recommend this place at all. I don't know what my husband and I were thinking, we clearly didn't research this place before booking. We wanted a cute romantic place to stay for a short visit for our anniversary. When we checked in and walked up to our room, I already noticed that the window screen was hanging half off. When we opened the door we got hit with the odor of, for lack or a better example, old lady perfume!!!! The smell was awful.
The bed and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, and the comforter didn't even have a cover, just a sheet underneath and

This is a cheap no-frills, over-priced 1950s motel. It's cute from the outside but you get nothing but the very bare minimum. It has a kitchen but no dishwasher. It begs the question, how are dishes sanitized. If they provided paper plates and biodegradable dinnerware, at least you could feel like it's clean/sanitary.
The shower curtain kept falling down and the bath tub was slippery, our child fell trying to take a shower. There were only 2 washcloths and 4 towels.
No maid service was provided for 3 days. Trash not collected. NO swim pool. Not kid or elderly friendly.

If you don't mind sharing your room with ants, then stay here. They will give you a can of ant spray. Paid over $300.00 a nite. Aaron(manger) doesn't return calls. 5 phone calls. Clerks couldn't be of any assistance.
No other rooms available. We were stuck. Nice room, comfy bed.
I prefer no ants. Found dog food crumbs in pantry from previous guest.
No response from management. Got our $ don't care about guest.

It was a nice hidden away motel in Pacific Grove. Staff was friendly and polite and very clean. I felt that the price was a little high but then again with covid happening I think it hurt many of these smaller hotels and motels and they're just trying to recover from lost revenue.
Overall though we were satisfied with our stay.

Put this place out of business. This is a rip off place to stay. We have been coming to PG for over 20 years and have stayed at this location in the past.
Things at this Inn during our recent stay have gone down hill significantly. We arrived July 3, to a huge party at the jacuzzi, with kids running around, no way we could soak in quiet. Shower curtain torn in half, water all over bathroom floor. Ants in bathroom. Heater would not turn off. Rusty ironing board in bathroom. I also asked Aaron, the manager, (I couldn't get hold of the owner) to refund my pet charge for our 2 night

No hot water. After hours management said wait till morning and tell lobby staff.
Multiple guests called saying same thing.

Ice cold showers are fun and relaxing(not).

UPDATE: rooms 422/416 said they have hot water.

We are in 420, nothing!

Update: 10:00am they got hot water, pilot light went out, it happens they said, but they are not sure why.

Wish the after hours manager could be informed and fix issues rather waiting till morning.

This was our first time visiting Monterey and the reason we chose this hotel was because it was pet friendly. Perfect for our dog. This hotel is a solid three stars, as long as you're not expecting a fancy resort. It met all of our needs and we were actually pretty happy with our stay. Some pros and cons:

Pros:
Queen size bed
Pet friendly
Mini fridge
Large bathroom and shower with built in body wash and shampoo.
Tv had lots of channels, so many to choose from.
15 minute walk to beach, shops.
5 minute walk to Monarch Sanctuary
Treats for our dog.

Cons:
No A/C in room.
Charged a $25 pet fee

Ants. That's really all you need to know. I see that others mentioned ants in earlier reviews and I wish I had read them before booking. Some of the reviews are months old and they still haven't fixed the issue. I'm giving one star for location only.

We annually visit Pacific Grove and I would not recommend this lodging to anyone. In fact, I don't plan on returning to give them my business due to how poorly this place is managed.

We stayed for the weekend and spent $520 for two nights to find out my room was infested with ants and the sliding door that led to our "private" patio being difficult to open. Both of these ruined my experience for how expensive the room was.

During check out, I mentioned this to the concierge and she told me to call their manager Aaron about my stay for a discount.

All Aaron gave me was a $30

Room is dated and there is an old furniture smell when you walk in. Bed was more comfy than expected.

Second night was awful as a baby in next room cried many times throughout the night and you could hear everything as if it was in the same room. No sound insulation resulted in a very sleepless night.

On the positive, the location is good with a walk to town for dinner and it is pet friendly.

I stayed here recently for a weekend. The floors were new looking laminate. They were a little dirty but ok. The bed was comfortable, linens looked clean. The shower was very clean and I TRULY appreciate that they have the shampoo and soap wall mounted dispensers which are more sustainable and less wasteful than the old tiny single use plastic bottles.

they also have ceramic mugs rather than single use plastic. im so grateful that they are making a conscious effort to be more green.

My only complaint was the lack of continental breakfast ( lobby was locked and empty in the morning) and the loud

Dirty place.
I was excited to stay here since our last visit a few years ago. Unfortunately, the hotel is not as nice as it once was. Quality of room and customer service was extremely poor. We stayed in a room with a kitchen and when we arrived there was food crumbs on the counter as well as dirt/leaves on the floor. During our stay we had ants on our floor and kitchen counters, as well as in our bed. This messed up our food we had brought. When leaving I let the staff know when I checked out and the women was very rude about my issues. She acted as though what I was complaining about was not

Worst experience, crappy customer service and outdated rooms, other than that, amazing place. Let's start with the wall heater that makes knocking noises through out the night, if the crappy bed was not enough to ruin your sleep, try dealing with the knock, knock knock from the wall heater every 10mins or so. Wake up from a crappy sleep and need to shower, but no hot water! Icing on the cake, call the front desk to let the manager know of the experience and she says "well noone else has called me with these issues this morning", not "oh my, I am so sorry you had this experience, no apology whatsoever

The price is right, hot tub, amazing location and a fire pit. The staff was lovely and they allow dogs. Having a kitchen was also very convenient, WiFi works great too. It is expensive to invest in constant upkeep but the place is a bit tired. There are ants all over our kitchen and the towel rack was loose and doesn't seem like it can handle any weight. The lamp was broken. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the cleaning staff did a good job too. We would stay again. The staff was very welcoming and they had a treat bag for our dog.
