It's typically caused by poor brushing and flossing habits that allow plaque-a sticky film of bacteria-to build up on the teeth and harden. Dr. Carol Stevens is trained and certified in LANAP and offers her patients this alternative to conventional gum surgery in her Port Charlotte office. So whether you have healthy gums and want to keep them that way, or you already have gum disease and want to control it better, periodontist Carol W. Anxiety, fear and dental phobia can keep a person from seeking treatment when their teeth or gums are in need of dental care needed to avoid tooth loss, infection and pain. We offer a variety of sedation and relaxation techniques for those with mild, moderate or severe anxiety in our Port Charlotte, FL Dentist Office.
The goal of these treatments is to create conditions that enable tissues in the mouth to heal. The first non-surgical step usually involves a special cleaning, called scaling and root planing. This is sometimes referred to as "periodontal" or "deep" cleaning. Scaling and root planing is a method of treating periodontal disease when pockets are greater than 3mm.

This was the absolutely worst experience in a dental office I’ve ever had in my entire life. Dr. Stevens was rude and so is her staff. I needed records forwarded to another dentist, I called three times, was never done , so I had to go in in person and pick up my records, To take to my dentist. When I called the office the girl said well we’ll see what we can do, I said all you need to do is send my records to my new dentist!! I would never recommend this dentist nor her staff to anybody save your money go to a better dentist or periodontist, and maybe somebody with a better staff because they

So the first thing they say is we don’t do fillings. Then she states where do I get your information and I say. Last time I was here I gave you my dentist information to get x-rays. So I say I need you to look st my tooth I’m in pain and totally ignores this and says I asked you a question so I say I gave you that information didn’t you get it. She says no. Then I say why don’t you do x-rays and see where my cavity
