At Lasting Learners Academy, we believe that the early years lie down the foundation for all future learning. Our little scholars will be immersed in a nurturing and safe environment that will enable them to develop emotionally, intellectually, socially and physically. I served as Lauren Tijerina's principal for four years.
Ms Tijerina is an outstanding teacher with a passion for children and learning. She understands child development, early literacy, and the importance of educating the whole child. She uses a variety of techniques and strategies to make learning meaningful and relevant and to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.

Services
Our Lasting Learners adventure began long ago when Mrs. Lauren was just a little girl. Growing up she watched her parents start their own business and turn it into a very successful company. She always knew she would start her own business one day! She loved to play school growing up and when she grew older she loved babysitting.
I grew up in San Antonio, TX and I am a die hard Spurs fan! I attended and graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. I moved to Austin to complete my student teaching and have been a teacher for Round Rock Independent School District for six years now as a first grade teacher at Chandler Oaks Elementary School, an IB World School.
At Lasting Learners Academy we believe that the early years lies down the foundation for all future learning. We follow the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines to help promote school readiness. The use of these guidelines will help to create experiences with emergent literacy, math, and social/emotional skills for each child.
At Lasting Learners Academy our little scholars will get to enjoy our Lasting Learners S.T.E.A.M. room! Your little scholar will participate in rotations each day. Each little scholar will get to enjoy and learn from each activity in a small group setting. Each activity will focus on a different S.T.E.A.M. Component and will connect to our "big idea" for the week.
Lasting Learners Little Library is a place for our little scholars to escape into a world of adventure and imagination with their favorite book characters. They will meet a few of my personal favorites like The Cat in the Hat, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear Brown Bear. Our little scholars will have the opportunity to participate in dramatic play through dress up, puppet shows and putting on plays on their very own stage!
