Before becoming an attorney, Nancy was a registered nurse, where she saw the suffering caused by hospitals, nursing homes, and other care facilities that often put profits before patient needs.
In my professional career I started as a nurse and then became a lawyer. Even though those may seem like very different professions, they both are positions of helping and advocating for others. I have always been driven by a desire to help people who are struggling, either with their health or with getting justice.
When we seek a nursing home for a loved one, the last thing that we expect is that they will be assaulted in the facility. Tragically, assault is not all that uncommon.
