Founded in 1965, Thunderbird Preschool is a family-owned preschool in Crystal Lake, IL with a reputation for excellence in early childhood education. Throughout the years, we have worked to develop warm, long-lasting relationships with both children and families. We are proud to welcome back many alumni each year and currently serve 2nd and 3rd generation families.
Thunderbird Preschool is committed to providing caring, fun, and interactive early childhood learning experiences in Crystal Lake, IL. We provide half-day preschool programs for children ages 2-5. To help each child grow physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively, we place an emphasis on hands-on learning.

Services
Thunderbird was founded in 1965 by Claire Koch, who had a special interest in early childhood education and sought to provide great learning experiences and the best possible opportunities for young children. When Claire passed away in 1971, her husband Bud left his job as a civil engineer building roads to support his teachers and families in building the lives of young children.
A very warm welcome to you from all of us at Thunderbird Preschool here in Crystal Lake! We would be delighted to have the opportunity to guide your child on his/her preschool adventure. At Thunderbird, we believe young children learn best in a safe, loving, educational environment. We provide a warm and loving atmosphere that will help your child develop good feelings about him/herself and what he/she can do.
At Thunderbird, we have programs for children ages 2 through 5, which run September through May. We also have an option for older 4 and 5 year olds called "Super 5's". Juniors, Seniors and Super 5's must be potty-trained to attend. Our Super Tots classes are offered either with a parent/caregiver or independently.
